Their Final Abode

Allah ﷻ says in the Qur’an:

وَأَمَّا مَنْ خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّهِۦ وَنَهَى ٱلنَّفْسَ عَنِ ٱلْهَوَىٰ

But as for him who feared standing before his Lord and forbade himself from desire.
[79:40]
Meaning, he fears the standing before Allah ﷻ, he fears Allah’s judgement of him, he prevents his soul from following its desires, and he compels it to obey His Lord.
_

Verily Paradise will be his abode.
[79:41]
Meaning, his final abode, his destination, and his place of return will be the everlasting Paradise.
_
This Ayah isn’t referring to an extra-ordinary person who is abnormal.
Rather, it is talking about those like us, with desire and with wants and needs.
The only difference being that they are able to subjugate their desire in order to gain the pleasure of their Lord, and we struggle in that.
_
But the reward is greater!
Jannah is the abode! A place of residence forever!
_
As Allah ﷻ says

And as for the one who fears the standing before his Lord, there will be two gardens
[55:46]
_
The one who does not indulge nor prefer this worldly life. He who knows that the Hereafter is better and more lasting, so he fulfills what his Lord ordered him and stays away from His prohibitions, then he will earn two gardens from his Lord on the Day of Resurrection.
_
Allah ﷻ says in Surah Al-Mulk:

إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَخْشَوْنَ رَبَّهُمْ بِالْغَيْبِ لَهُمْ مَغْفِرَةٌ وَأَجْرٌ كَبِيرٌ

Verily, those who fear their Lord unseen, theirs will be forgiveness and a great reward.
[67:12]
_
Allah ﷻ informs of he who fears standing before his Lord, being frightened about matters between himself and Allah ﷻ when he is not in the presence of other people. So he refrains from disobedience and he performs acts of obedience when no one sees him except Allah ﷻ.

Allah ﷻ mentions that this person will have forgiveness and a great reward. This means that his sins will be remitted and he will be rewarded abundantly.
_
As Prophet ﷺ told us about the 7 shaded on Qiyamah,
One of which being:

وَرَجُلٌ ذَكَرَ اللَّهَ خَالِيًا فَفَاضَتْ عَيْنَاهُ

“One who remembered Allah in private and he wept.”
[Sahih al-Bukhari 629, Sahih Muslim 1031]
_
Reflect on yourself!
Where am I with my Rabb?
Do I fear him when I’m alone?
Or do I transgress all boundaries when away from people’s eyes and attention?
Reflect..
