﷽
What Deeds do you Have?
Allah ﷻ says in Surah Al-Hashr
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَلْتَنظُرْ نَفْسٌۭ مَّا قَدَّمَتْ لِغَدٍۢ
O you who believe! Have Taqwa of Allah and let every person look to what he has sent forth for tomorrow,
وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ
and fear Allah!
إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ خَبِيرٌۢ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ
Surely Allah is all aware of what you do.
[59:18]
Nothing that pertains to you ever escapes His observation, nor any matter of yours, whether major or minor.

Qatadah رحمه الله says:
Your Lord continues to bring closer for you the Hour, until He makes it like it is tomorrow.
_
In the next ayah Allah ﷻ says:
وَلَا تَكُونُوا۟ كَٱلَّذِينَ نَسُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ فَأَنسَىٰهُمْ أَنفُسَهُمْ
And be not like those who forgot Allah, and He caused them to forget themselves
[59:19]
Meaning, do not forget the remembrance of Allah ﷻ otherwise, He will make you forget to perform the good deeds that benefit you in your return, because the recompense is equated with the action.

This is an amazing Ayah,
Why does Allah ﷻ remind us about Taqwa twice in one Ayah?
Because Taqwa is what saves us from bad deeds, inclines us toward the good deeds!
Taqwa is usually translated as God Consciousness, but it also means Fearing Allah ﷻ.
_
When we have Taqwa,
The abstinence becomes easier upon us,
And the engagement in Ibadah becomes more enjoyable for us!
_
And this is what provides a basis from where we cause the Angel on our right to be busy, While the Angel on the left to be idle!
And this is what we need to strive for in our lives.
_
Allah ﷻ says
عَلِمَتْ نَفْسٌ مَّا قَدَّمَتْ وَ أَخَّرَت
A soul will know what it brought forth and what it left behind.
[82:5]
_
Umar Ibn Al Khattab رضي الله عنه used to say:
Call yourselves to account before you are held to account
_
So reflect upon yourselves and what you have prepared for the Day that is coming,
Before you will be called to account for what you took with you to the grave!
_
May Allah ﷻ grant us sucess in this world and in the Hereafter and make us among the righteous who fear Allah ﷻ.
آمِيْن يَارَبَّ الْعَالَمِينْ
