Allah ﷻ doesn’t want to Punish

Allah ﷻ says
وَرَحْمَتِى وَسِعَتْ كُلَّ شَىْءٍ
And My mercy encompasses all things.
[7:156]
This verse testifies to His encompassing mercy.

Imam Ahmad رحمه الله recorded that Jundub Ibn Abdullah رضي الله عنه narrated “A bedouin man came, he made his camel kneel and he tied it. Then he prayed behind the Messenger of Allah . When the Messenger of Allah finished the prayer, that man untied his camel mounted it and supplicated aloud, “O Allah! Grant Your mercy to me and to Muhammad, and do not give a share in it to anyone else.”
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) commented (to his Companions) “Do you think that this man is more misguided or his camel, Did you not hear what this man has said?” They said, “Yes.”
He said, “You (the bedouin man) have restricted a vast mercy! Allah, the Exalted, the most Honored has created a hundred mercies and sent down one of them by which the creation, men, Jinn and animals, show mercy to each other. He left with Him ninety-nine mercies, so do you say that this man is more misguided or his camel”
[Ahmad, Abu Dawud]

The ayah continues:
فَسَأَكْتُبُهَا لِلَّذِينَ يَتَّقُونَ
That (mercy) I shall ordain for those who have Taqwa,
[7:156]
Meaning, I will ordain My mercy for them (the person who is Muttaqi) who avoids Shirk and Major sins, as a favor and kindness from Me to them.

سبحان الله
Your Mother who birthed you, wouldn’t throw you into the fire.
And Allah ﷻ is even more merciful than her, Allah ﷻ doesn’t want to punish.
But Allah ﷻ is also Just as well as Merciful.
So Allah ﷻ will punish.
_
As Allah ﷻ says
مَّا يَفۡعَلُ ٱللَّهُ بِعَذَابِكُمۡ إِن شَكَرۡتُمۡ وَءَامَنتُمۡۚ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ شَاكِرًا عَلِيمٗا
Why should Allah punish you if you are grateful and faithful? Allah is ever Appreciative, All-Knowing.
[4:147]

What does Allah ﷻ want then?
وَاللّهُ يُرِيدُ أَن يَتُوبَ عَلَيْكُمْ
Allah wishes to accept your repentance!
[4:27]
_
Why should Allah ﷻ accept the repentance if the repentance is not present with his Slave?
That’s why you Repent!
_
May Allah forgive all our shortcomings and accept all our worship during this Ramadan.
