A Willingness To Serve Humanity
Brothers and sisters in Islam! When you think of a sincere servant of Allaah (ﷻ), what is the first thing that comes to your mind ?
Do you think of a preacher who delivers sermon?
Prophets of Allaah inviting people to the truth and performing miracles ?
Maybe you think of a believer who used to fast and pray, Or maybe it’s something else altogether. Regardless of what you imagine, if we look at the above examples of what a sincere servant of Allaah is, we will see that they all signify obedience to a higher power. A willingness to help others, a desire to lead by example and striving to please the Creator.
A sincere servant of Allaah is not a title reserved to only the Prophets and preachers. Sincere servants of Allaah come in many different forms. They can be teachers, judges, doctors, nurses, security agents, labourers and any other profession that provides service to others. It is the service that matters not the perceived status derived from the service. As long as we serve others in a noble way while upholding righteousness and being honest and truthful with our transactions, we are sincere servants of Allaah.
Allaah (ﷻ) say:
وَعِبَادُ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلَّذِينَ يَمْشُونَ عَلَى ٱلْأَرْضِ هَوْنًۭا وَإِذَا خَاطَبَهُمُ ٱلْجَٰهِلُونَ قَالُوا۟ سَلَٰمًۭا
And the servants of the Most Merciful are those who walk upon the earth easily, and when the ignorant address them [harshly], they say [words of] peace
وَٱلَّذِينَ يَبِيتُونَ لِرَبِّهِمْ سُجَّدًۭا وَقِيَٰمًۭا
And those who spend [part of] the night to their Lord prostrating and standing [in prayer]
وَٱلَّذِينَ يَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَا ٱصْرِفْ عَنَّا عَذَابَ جَهَنَّمَ ۖ إِنَّ عَذَابَهَا كَانَ غَرَامًا
And those who say, “Our Lord, avert from us the punishment of Hell. Indeed, its punishment is ever adhering;
[Al-Furqan, 63-65]
So this means that these people do not walk with conceit, arrogance or pride. This does not mean that they should walk like sick people, making a show of their humility, but a true servant of Allaah (ﷻ) is one who seeks the pleasure of Allaah and lives by His commandments. They promote justice and righteousness. They serve others. They understand that serving Allaah’s creations is a method and act that please Allaah (ﷻ). It is only through good works that we become a sincere servant.

Sincere servants of Allaah are more than just unique people with extraordinary abilities, they are souls devoted to a mission and are loyal to their cause.
They are righteous human beings with a goal to fulfill. They understand what they must do and have a vision for success. They are willing to sacrifice the desires of the heart for the pleasure of Allaah (ﷻ). They never lose sight of who they are, they are consciousness of Allaah (ﷻ) and always seek His pleasure.
We seek Allaah’s refuge from the evils of ourselves and from our actions.
May HE forgive us our shortcomings and grant us Al-Jannah
