The Plot of the Shaithan is Weak
Allah ﷻ says to Shaithan in Surah Isra :
إِنَّ عِبَادِى لَيْسَ لَكَ عَلَيْهِمْ سُلْطَانٌ
Indeed, over my servants there is for you, no authority.
وَ كَفَىٰ بِرَبِّكَ وَكِيْلًا
And Sufficient is your Lord as disposer of affairs.
[17:65]

Abu Sa’id al-Khudri رضي الله عنه reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
“Shaithan said: By Your might, O Lord, I will continue to mislead the children of Adam, as long as their souls are in their bodies. The Lord said: By My might and majesty, I will continue to forgive them, as long as they seek My forgiveness.”
[Musnad Aḥmad 11367, Grade: Sahih according to Al-Suyuti]

Just as Shaithan is an Open enemy to you, Allah ﷻ is the only Guardian that could protect you against Shaithan.
But we have to seek closeness to Allah ﷻ and we have to seek the mercy and forgiveness of Allah ﷻ with action and striving.
It is not enough to say لا اله الا الله و محمد رسول الله and only pay it lip service. But it must be followed by action, righteous actions which bring you closer to Allah ﷻ.

The Closer to Allah ﷻ you get, the weaker Shaytaan becomes against you.
Look at the likes of Umar ibn Al Khattab رضي الله عنه who walked on one street and Shaithan would flee to another street out of fear.
Their hearts were so firmly grounded by Islam and Imaan and the Shaytaan was limited to only faint Waswasa against them.
This is the level we need to strive to achieve.
We may not attain it but Islam in itself revolves around striving on the straight path to the best of your ability and then leaving everything else to Allah ﷻ.
And about the Strength of Shaithan against the righteous, Allah ﷻ says
إِنَّ كَيْدَ الشَّيْطَانِ كَانَ ضَعِيْفًا
Surely the plot of Shaithan is weak.
[4:76]
Shaithan is not just an open enemy but a weak one too. For the righteous, he is unable to affect them and unable to incline them to Evil.
Because Allah ﷻ has protected them, put in their hearts steadfastness due to their obedience.

Ya Ibn Adam! Do you want to save yourself from the day when Shaithan frees himself from your blame?
Do you want to Gain closeness to Allah ﷻ and His Love and Jannah?
Then do actions which please Allah ﷻ.

May Allah ﷻ protect us from Shaithan and make us among the Righteous.
آمِيْن يَارَبَّ الْعَالَمِينْ
