Sincerity to Allah ﷻ Alone
Allah ﷻ says in the Qur’an:
وَلَا تَكُونُواْ كَٱلَّذِينَ خَرَجُواْ مِن دِيَٰرِهِم بَطَرٗا وَرِئَآءَ ٱلنَّاسِ وَيَصُدُّونَ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِۚ وَٱللَّهُ بِمَا يَعۡمَلُونَ مُحِيطٞ
And do not be like those who came forth from their homes insolently and to be seen by people and avert [them] from the way of Allah . And Allah is encompassing of what they do.
[Surah Al-Anfal 8:47]
_ Narrated by ‘Umar bin Al-Khattab رضي الله عنه: I heard Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) saying: ” Actions are but by intentions and every person will get the reward according to what he has intended. So whoever emigrated for worldly benefits or for a woman to marry, his emigration was for what he emigrated for.”_
[Sahih al-Bukhari 1]
_ It is reported from Imām Ahmad رحمه الله that he said: “The foundations of Islām are upon three hadīth: the one reported by ʿUmar – ‘Actions are but by intentions’, the one reported by ‘Āishah – ‘Whoever does a deed that does not conform to our commands will have it rejected’ and the one reported by Al-Nu’mān b. Bashīr – ‘The halāl and harām are clear…’”_
_ Al-Fudayl b. ʿAyyāḍ [187H] رحمه الله said: “Allah ‘azza wa jalla accepts only those deeds which are both correct and sincere (pure). If the deed is done correctly but not sincerely, it will not be accepted. And if it is sincere but not correct, it will not be accepted.” He was asked, “Abū ‘Alī! What is the sincere and correct deed?” He replied, “The sincere deed is one that is done only for Allah ‘azza wa jall. And the correct deed is one done according to the Sunnah.”_

__ It is reported that Harim b. Ḥayyān رحمه الله said: _"Never does the servant turn wholeheartedly to Allāh except that Allāh turns the hearts of the believers to him, providing him their love.”_ [Adh-Dhahabī, Siyar A’lām Al-Nubalā 4:49]
