Read, memorize and reflect on the Aayat
Allah ﷻ says about the Qur’an:
كِتَٰبٌ أَنزَلْنَٰهُ إِلَيْكَ مُبَٰرَكٌۭ لِّيَدَّبَّرُوٓا۟ ءَايَٰتِهِۦ وَلِيَتَذَكَّرَ أُو۟لُوا۟ ٱلْأَلْبَٰبِ
A blessed book, we sent down to you so that they may ponder over its Ayaat, and so that the people of understanding may remember.
[38:29]

Hasan Al Basri رحمه الله said “By Allah! Tadabbur is not done by memorising its letters and neglecting its boundaries,
Until one of them will say: “I read the Qur’an completely”
And no Qur’an is seen in his mannerisms and his actions.

Imam Qurtubi رحمه الله said:
And in this is an evidence upon the necessity of understanding the meanings of the Qur’an, and the evidence of slow measured recitation with Tajweed being better than الهذ.

Is defined by the scholars as
وهو الإفراطُ في السرعة
Being excessive in how fast you recite.

The Qur’an and you is like a person in a jungle with a map to guide him.
If you read the map, with the intent to be lead to safety, the map will perform its function perfectly and you will be saved from harm!
If you skim the map, not paying much attention to it, you’ll end up wasting time, energy and resources and take much longer to get to safety while also running the major risk of losing your way completely!
If you don’t even read it at all, thinking your instincts and wits are all you need…you’ll be trapped in the jungle forever.

Every Ayah, respond to it in your heart or with your mouth.

Learn the Arabic language, this reflection process is made infinitely easier.
Learn Surahs by heart, meaning and Arabic.
Read basic Tafaseer, like Ibn Katheer.
Read Seerah.

Allah ﷻ says
أَفَلَا يَتَدَبَّرُونَ ٱلْقُرْءَانَ
Do they not ponder over the Qur’an?
[4:82]

May Allah ﷻ attach our hearts to the Qur’an.
آمِيْن يَارَبَّ الْعَالَمِينْ
