﷽
True Happiness and Contentment
Allah ﷻ says
هُوَ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَنزَلَ ٱلسَّكِينَةَ فِى قُلُوبِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
it is He Who sent down As-Sakinah in the hearts of the believers
Meaning, tranquility.
Qatadah رحمه الله said “Grace into the hearts of the believers.”
لِيَزْدَادُوٓا۟ إِيمَٰنًۭا مَّعَ إِيمَٰنِهِمْ
So that they increase in faith.
[48:4]
When their hearts felt content with acceptance and were at peace, Allah ﷻ increased their faith, joining it to the faith they already had.
_
Allah ﷻ also says
اِنَّمَا الْمُؤمِنُونَ الَّذِيْنَ اِذَا ذُكِرَ اللهُ وَ جِلَتْ قُلُوبُهُم
The believers are only those who, when Allah is mentioned, feel a fear in their hearts
وَإِذَا تُلِيَتْ عَلَيْهِمْ ءَايَٰتُهُۥ زَادَتْهُمْ إِيمَٰنًۭا
and when His Ayat are recited unto them, they increase their faith
[8:2]

Contemplate!
Do we feel a trembling in our hearts when the Ayaat of Qiyamah and the Adhaab are recited or happiness when the Ayaat of Rahma and Hope are recited?
If we don’t why don’t we?
Maybe we failed to seek knowledge,
Our hearts are hard towards the Qur’an.
_
Wallahi, true happiness and contentment only comes from the remembrance and the obedience of Allah ﷻ, with the knowledge of what you are striving towards.
_
We need to increase our remembrance, otherwise we will stagnate and risk decline into Hypocrisy.
_
We must continue to increase our Dhikr, our good deeds to keep the Imaan sustained in our hearts.
Then comes the true contentment.
_
And we also have to avoid sins, as much as possible.
Hearts only become hard due to our sins.
Allah ﷻ says
كَلَّا ۖ بَلْ ۜ رَانَ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يَكْسِبُونَ
Nay! Surely there is a rust over their hearts due to what they used to do.
[83:14]
_
May Allah ﷻ make us among those whose hearts are filled with the remembrance of Allah ﷻ and may He ﷻ accept all our deeds of this Ramadan.
آمِيْن يَارَبَّ الْعَالَمِينْ
