﷽
The Severity of That Day
Allah ﷻ says:
يَوْمَ يُنْفَخُ فِي الصُّورِ ۚ
The Day the Horn will be blown.
وَنَحْشُرُ الْمُجْرِمِينَ يَوْمَئِذٍ زُرْقًا
And We shall gather the criminals blue-eyed.
[20:102]
It has been said that this means having blue eyes due to the severity of their horrifying situation.
As Allah ﷻ says
وُجُوهٌ يَّوْمَئِذٍ خَاشِعَة
Faces on that day will be downcast.
[88:2]
And also
وَوُجُوْهٌ يَّوْمَئِذٍ عَلَيْهَا غَبَرَة
And faces on that day will have dust on them
تَرْهَقُوْهَا قَتَرَة
Darkness shall cover them.
[80:40-41]

Prophet ﷺ said as part of a longer Hadith:
“Each one of you will stand in front of Allah without a barrier or interpreter between him and Allah. Allah will ask: Did I not give you wealth? He will say yes. Allah will ask: Did I not send you a messenger? He will say yes. Then he will look to his right and see nothing but Hellfire, and he will look to his left and see nothing but Hellfire”
[Sahih Bukhari 1347]

The wrong-doers shall see the punishment, they shall be raised with dark faces and blue eyes of terror because they know what they have done and where it will lead them.
_
And Allah ﷻ says
يُعْرَفُ الْمُجْرِمُونَ بِسِيمَاهُمْ
The Criminals shall be known by their marks.
[55:41]
_
Qatadah رحمه الله said:
“They will be distinguished by special marks of dark faces and blue eyes, in contrast to the Noor that will appear on the bodies of the believers who did Ablution regularly”
_
Allah ﷻ continues the ayah:
فَيُؤْخَذُ بِالنَّوَاصِي وَالْأَقْدَامِ
And they shall be seized by their hands and feet.
[55:41]
Meaning, the angels of punishment will bend their heads down to their feet and throw them like this into the Hellfire.
_
Ibn Abbas رضي الله عنه said He will be taken by his forehead and his feet and be broken just as a stick is broken to be thrown into an oven.’
_
As Allah ﷻ says
عَلِمَتْ نَفْسٌۭ مَّا قَدَّمَتْ وَأَخَّرَتْ
Every soul shall know what it has brought forth and left behind,
[82:5]
_
And Allah ﷻ says
وَٱتَّقُوا۟ يَوْمًۭا لَّا تَجْزِى نَفْسٌ عَن نَّفْسٍۢ شَيْـًۭٔا وَلَا يُقْبَلُ مِنْهَا شَفَٰعَةٌۭ وَلَا يُؤْخَذُ مِنْهَا عَدْلٌۭ
And fear a Day (of Judgement) when a person shall not avail another, nor will intercession be accepted from him, nor will compensation be taken from him.
[2:48]
Such is severity of the The Day of Resurrection
May Allah ﷻ protect us from it’s severity and make it easy on us and grant us His Jannah.
آمِيْن يَارَبَّ الْعَالَمِينْ
