Where will you be?

Allah ﷻ says in Surah Luqman

وَمَا تَدْرِى نَفْسٌۭ مَّاذَا تَكْسِبُ غَدًۭا ۖ

No person knows what he will earn tomorrow

وَمَا تَدْرِى نَفْسٌۢ بِأَىِّ أَرْضٍۢ تَمُوتُ ۚ

And no person knows in what land he will die

إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلِيمٌ خَبِيرٌۢ

Indeed Allah is the All-knower.
[31:34]

So what should you do in life?

Worship your Lord, until there comes for you the certainty,
Pray until Death comes for you.

Because you don’t know, when you die, will you attain Jannah or will you end up in Jahannam?

The poet says

الموت باب و كل الناس داخله

Death is a door, everyone shall enter through it.

ياليت شعري بعد الموت ما الدار

Oh Alas! I wish I knew after Death, what is the abode.

الدار جنة عدر ان عملت بما يرضي الإله

The abode of Jannah is everlasting bliss, if you act with deeds that please Allah.

و إن خالفت فالنار

And if you transgress [then for you] is the fire.

سبحان الله

You do not know, O son of Adam, when you will die. You might die tomorrow, you might be stricken by calamity tomorrow.

Nor does man know, where his resting place will be, on the land or in the sea, on a plain or in the mountains.
But Allah ﷻ knows and he is Al Kabeer!

So let us reflect
What are we doing with our lives?
_
Are we heading on the path to eternal bliss and happiness in the Akhirah?

Or are we on a collision course with the punishment and Anger of Allah ﷻ in the Akhirah?
_
When you talk to the opposite sex, message them, flirt with them, and commit Zina..
Ask yourself where are you heading?

When you show off your adornments to everyone, when you display your beauty and commit all kinds of Haraam…
Ask yourself, where are you leading yourself?
_
Why are we so relaxed and content with our state of Imaan and Ibadah, when we have no guarantee of Jannah?!
When the 10 Sahaba promised Jannah, never stopped working for the Akhirah even after having been given glad tidings?

But no! We expect Jannah as if its a right!
So take a long look at yourself and ask yourself
Where are you heading to?
