Humble Yourselves
The Shaykh is addressing Students of Knowledge, but this is also applicable to the ignorant but loud and eloquent speakers present in our Ummah today.
Wallahi! It has become so that we live in a period of Ignorance and sheer stupidity.
The Muslims follow the Loud and controversial Laymen shouting on the Podium and they disregard the Humble Aalim and his Books and his Knowledge because he advises with Wisdom.
What is wrong with you?
What goes through your head on a daily basis?
It seems as though people will go to listen to a Speaker or a Shaykh because of his personality. His ability to speak.
People nowadays can only listen to a talk if theres a hum of a nasheed in the background, or they’ll get bored with the knowledge itself.
And they leave feeling an emotional buzz, but they have not gained knowledge nor do they change.
They’ll go to Listen to a talk about Dajjal and Yajuj and Majuj, but a speaker telling them Zina is Haram? They’ll ignore it, why? Because the one that they know the shoe fits, they can’t bear it.
Ya Akhi! How does the Knowledge of Dajjal supersede the basic knowledge of Istinjaa which you have made no effort for!
This is Strange!
Fix yourselves up O Muslims!
And then you have some people who have loud voices and lack knowledge or manners at the same time, but just because they’ve read a couple of books and done a few courses, They’ll go online, get popular and suddenly they’ve become a Shaykh, they have students under them.
They become arrogant and start belittling scholars and start refuting scholars past and present.
Ya Akhi! Refutation is for the scholars to discuss amongst themselves not for the Layman to make it a spectacle.
Then you have the ones who don’t even class themselves as students of knowledge.
They are the intellectual Layman.
No formal education in Deen, no supervision of a scholar, they’ll read Shaykh Ibn Taymiyyah’s رحمه الله Majmoo’ Al Fatawaa in second hand translation and thats it, They’ll be an Aalim overnight.
Humble yourself!
You are nobody!
