This life is a test.
Allah ﷻ says in the Qur’an
وَلَنَبۡلُوَنَّكُم بِشَيۡءٖ مِّنَ ٱلۡخَوۡفِ وَٱلۡجُوعِ وَنَقۡصٖ مِّنَ ٱلۡأَمۡوَٰلِ وَٱلۡأَنفُسِ وَٱلثَّمَرَٰتِۗ وَبَشِّرِ ٱلصَّٰبِرِينَ
And We will surely test you with something of fear and hunger and a loss of wealth and lives and fruits, but give good tidings to the patient,
[2:155]

Brothers and sisters!
This world was not made for you to fulfil your base desires, it was not made for you to enjoy yourselves and indulge in pleasure!
_
Rather it was made for you to be tested
_
As Allah ﷻ says
أَحَسِبَ ٱلنَّاسُ أَن يُتْرَكُوٓا۟ أَن يَقُولُوٓا۟ ءَامَنَّا وَهُمْ لَا يُفْتَنُونَ
Do the people think that they will be left alone because they said “We Believe” and they won’t be tried
[29:2]

This is the test for those of us, living in relative comfort, bombarded with seduction and fulfilment of the desires
_
So we must be as Allah ﷻ says:
قَالُوا رَبُّنَا اللهُ ثُمَّ اسْتَقَامُوا
They say “Our Lord is Allah” and then are steadfast
[46:13]
_
Because the true adornment of this life, lies in the obedience of Allah ﷻ and his Prophet ﷺ.
Without it, there is no honour, there is no fulfilment,
Rather there is empty pleasure and temporary enjoyment succeeded by the fire.
_
We are tested with great acts of oppression committed by others, but we must remember that Allah has promised that those who oppress will give their good deeds on the Day of Resurrection or then oppressed person’s sins are given to the oppressor.
_
Make sure you do not Oppress anyone and lose your Hereafter!
_
Moisten your tongue and lips with the Kalam and the Dhikr of Allah ﷻ!
_
You were not shown the path to Jannah or Jahannam for you to remain Idle in your place, still and inactive!
_
So make use of this life, make it good for the sake of Allah ﷻ
So you may earn a good death,
And an eternal life of Bliss as reward for your effort!
_
For if you don’t,
اِنَّ جَهَنَّمَ كَانَتْ مِرْصَادًا
Surely Jahannam lies in wait.
[78:21]
And if you do:
فَإِنَّ ٱلۡجَنَّةَ هِيَ ٱلۡمَأۡوَىٰ
Then indeed, Paradise will be [his] refuge.
[79:41]

May Allah ﷻ grant us goodness and ease and enter us into His Jannatul Firdaus.
آمِيْن يَارَبَّ الْعَالَمِينْ
