Allah ﷻ says in Surah Nisa
وَلَوْ أَنَّهُمْ فَعَلُواْ مَا يُوعَظُونَ بِهِ
but if they had done what they were told,
Meaning, if they do what they were commanded and refrain from what they were prohibited,
لَكَانَ خَيْراً لَّهُمْ
it would have been better for them,
than disobeying the command and committing the prohibition,
وَأَشَدَّ تَثْبِيتاً
and would have strengthened their conviction
وَإِذٗا لَّأٓتَيۡنَٰهُم مِّن لَّدُنَّآ أَجۡرًا عَظِيمٗا
and We would have granted them a great reward by Our grace
وَلَهَدَيْنَـهُمْ صِرَطاً مُّسْتَقِيماً
And indeed We would have guided them to the straight way.
in this life and the Hereafter.
وَمَن يُطِعِ ٱللَّهَ وَٱلرَّسُولَ فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ مَعَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَنْعَمَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيْهِم مِّنَ ٱلنَّبِيِّۦنَ وَٱلصِّدِّيقِينَ وَٱلشُّهَدَآءِ وَٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ ۚ وَحَسُنَ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ رَفِيقًۭا
And whoever obeys Allah and the Messenger will be in the company of those blessed by Allah: the prophets, the people of truth, the martyrs, and the righteous—what honourable company!
ذَٰلِكَ ٱلۡفَضۡلُ مِنَ ٱللَّهِۚ وَكَفَىٰ بِٱللَّهِ عَلِيمٗا
This is Allah’s favour, and Allah fully knows ˹who deserves it˺.
[4:66-70]

Al-Bukhari recorded that `A’ishah رضي الله عنه said, “I heard the Messenger of Allah saying, Every Prophet who falls ill is given a choice between this life and Al Akhirah, During the illness that preceded his death, his voice became weak and I heard him saying
مَعَ الَّذِينَ أَنْعَمَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِم مِّنَ النَّبِيِّينَ وَالصِّدِّيقِينَ وَالشُّهَدَآءِ وَالصَّـلِحِينَ
[4:69]
I knew then he was being given the choice.
[Sahih Bukhari]
This Hadith explains another Hadith,
Where it is narrated the Prophet ﷺ said before his death
اللَّهُمَّ (فِي) الرَّفِيقِ الْأَعْلَى
O Allah! In the Most High Company
three times, and then he died ﷺ
[Sahih Muslim]

The first Ayah tells us
- Allah ﷻ Has ordained commands to be followed which results in self betterment and collective betterment even if the rules don’t appeal to us or make sense, Allah ﷻ knows what is better.
- Obedience to Allah ﷻ leads to Tasdiq (conviction) and therefore a drive to Obey Allah ﷻ in all situations.

Then we would have been entered into Jannah, in the company of the greatest of men.
_
May Allah ﷻ Grant us a deeper understanding and bless us with Jannatul Firdaus.
