EPISODE 3⃣ – THE FIRST FOUNDATION (cont’d)

– Belief in the Messengers
They believe in all the Messengers, including those whom Allāh (ﷻ) mentioned to us by their names and those whom He did not mention. Belief in the Messengers is a general belief, and the belief in our Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) is a specific belief and a faith that he is the last of the Messengers. They believe that the Prophet (ﷺ) ascended in person, while he was awake to the heavens and then to wherever Allāh (ﷻ) willed of the loftiest heights.

Narrated Abu Said:
Allaah’s Apostle said, “Noah and his nation will come (on the Day of Resurrection and Allaah will ask (Noah), “Did you convey (the Message)?’ He will reply, ‘Yes, O my Lord!’ Then Allaah will ask Noah’s nation, ‘Did Noah convey My Message to you?’ They will reply, ‘No, no prophet came to us.’ Then Allaah will ask Noah, ‘Who will stand a witness for you?’ He will reply, ‘Muhammad and his followers (will stand witness for me).’ So, I and my followers will stand as witnesses for him (that he conveyed Allaah’s Message).” That is, (the interpretation) of the Statement of Allaah: “Thus we have made you a just and the best nation that you might be witnesses Over mankind ..” (2.143)

(Muslim: Book 55, Number 555)

– Belief in the Last Day
They believe in all that will occur from the signs of the Final Hour. Among its signs is the coming of the False Messiah (Al-Maseeh Ad-Dajjaal), the coming of the Mahdee, who will be from the descendants of the Prophet (ﷺ), the descent of ‘Isaa (عليه السلام), the son of Maryam (عليحا السلام), his killing of the False Messiah, and his ruling in the land according to Islam. They also believe in everything that will occur after death and the Last Day of which Allāh (ﷻ) and His Messenger (ﷺ) have informed us. They believe in the resurrection from the grave when the people will stand before the Lord of the Worlds (ﷻ), barefoot, naked and uncircumcised. They believe that the servants will speak to Allāh (ﷻ) on the Day of Resurrection and they will not have any translator between them. They also believe that Paradise and Hell are two creations that will never perish.

Narrated Ibn Umar:
Once Allaah’s Apostle stood amongst the people, glorified and praised Allaah as He deserved and then mentioned the Dajjal saying, “l warn you against him (i.e. the Dajjal) and there was no prophet but warned his nation against him. No doubt, Noah warned his nation against him but I tell you about him something of which no prophet told his nation before me. You should know that he is one-eyed, and Allaah is not one-eyed.”

(Muslim: Book 55, Number 553)

– Belief in Al-Qadar (Divine Decree)

They believe in Al-Qadar, both the good and the undesirable aspects of it. Belief in Al-Qadar means believing that Allāh (ﷻ) knows everything that was and whatever will be, hence He (ﷻ) decreed that and wrote it in the Preserved Tablet (Lawhil Mahfooz). He (ﷻ) loves obedience and despises disobedience. He (ﷻ) guides whomever He wills and misguides whomever He wills. However, there is no acceptable argument or excuse for whomever He (ﷻ) misguides. People are not compelled to do their actions; rather, they choose their own actions and beliefs. Everything that Allāh (ﷻ) willed has occurred and whatever He (ﷻ) has not willed will not occur.

Anas ibn Malik reported: The Messenger of Allaah (ﷺ), said,
“I am amazed by the believer. Verily, Allaah does not decree anything for the believer except what is good for him.”

(Musnad Aḥmad 12495)
