Quality over Quantity in Deeds

Allah ﷻ says in Surah Mulk
تَبَارَكَ الَّذِي بِيَدِهِ الْمُلْكُ وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ
Blessed be He in Whose Hand is the dominion; and He is Able to do all things.
[67:1]
_
Allah ﷻ glorifies His Noble Self and informs that the dominion is in His Hand. This means that He deals with all of His creatures however He wishes and there is none who can reverse His decree. He is not questioned concerning what He does because of His force, His wisdom and His justice.
_
الَّذِي خَلَقَ الْمَوْتَ وَالْحَيَاةَ لِيَبْلُوَكُمْ أَيُّكُمْ أَحْسَنُ عَمَلً
Who created Death and Life to test you, in order to test you, which of you is best in deed.
[67:2]
_
Allah ﷻ created this Dunya to be temporary and specifically a place of tests and a place of delusion!
Its temporary nature is a sign in itself
_
It should be noted that Allah did not say “which of you does the most deeds.”
But rather “best in deeds”
So it’s about the Quality and not the Quantity!
_
The Quality, The Sincerity, The Purity of an action determines its weight on the scales on Qiyamah.
_
Ask yourselves
What use would Jannah have, if the Dunya was eternal?
And how many times have we refused Jannah with disobedience and taken the Dunya as our Jannah indirectly?
_
Thats why we find many Ahadith on the value of the Dunya.
Jabir bin Abdullah reported that Allah’s Apostle (ﷺ) happened to walk through the bazar coming from the side of ‘Aliya and the people were on both his sides. There he found a dead lamb with very short ears. He took hold of his ear and said:
Who amongst you would like to have this for a dirham?
They said: We do not like to have it even for less than that as it is of no use to us.
He said: Do you wish to have it (free of any cost)?
They said: By Allah, even if it were alive (we would not have liked to possess that), for there is defect in it as its ear is very short; now it is dead also.
Thereupon Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said: By Allah, this world is more insignificant in the eye of Allah than it (this dead lamb) is in your eye.
[Sahih Muslim 2957a]
_
The ayah ends:
وَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الْغَفُور
And He is the All Mighty, the Most Forgiving.
[67:2]
This means that He is the Almighty, the Most Great, the Most Powerful and the Most Honorable. However, along with this He is Most Forgiving to whoever turns to Him in repentance and seeks His pardon after having disobeyed Him and opposed His commandment.
Fear His Might and Hope in His Forgiveness!

May Allah ﷻ forgive us and grant us goodness in this world and in the hereafter, in life and in death.
