It’s time to fix ourselves up

Allah ﷻ says in the Qur’an

وَ مَا الْحَيَاةُ الدُّنْيَا إِلاَّ لَعِبٌ وَ لَهْوٌ

And what is the life of this world except play and amusement

وَلَلدَّارُ الْأَخِرَةُ خَيْرُ الَّذِيْنَ يَتَّقُوْنَ

But best is the home of the hereafter, for those who are righteous.

أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُوْنَ

Will you not understand?
[6:32]

Allah ﷻ is telling us here that the Dunya is nothing but Play and Amusement.
A distraction for us.

We see its Beauty and its attraction and we think Wow!
But we’re forgetting that Allah ﷻ has created something much more beautiful for us in the hereafter.
_
Why is this world like an amusement?
This world is like a garden, and a man is like a child within it.
He goes out and plays and plays, for 80 years, he will waste his life instead of toiling in the Garden for Allah ﷻ. And then his Master, his Rabb will call him back and he will be accounted for what he did.

And as Allah ﷻ says

كَأَنَّهُمْ يَوْمَ يَرَوْنَهَا لَمْ يَلْبَثُوا إِلاَّ عَشِيَّةً أَوْ ضُحَهَا

It will be, on the Day they see it, as though they had not remained [in the world] except for an afternoon or a morning thereof.
[79:46]

Meaning, all those years he spent, compared to Qiyamah will seem like an evening or a morning.

Have you not heard the Narration, where the person who lived the most luxurious life in the Dunya without thanking Allah ﷻ. He will be dipped in the fire just a little, and he will be asked “Have you ever experienced goodness or joy” and he will reply “By Allah I have never experienced goodness or Joy”

This is the worth of the Dunya.
Nothing of its beauty will remain, all it will be is a flat and deserted plain.

So why do we love it more than the Akhirah?
Which Allah ﷻ says is better for us.
We all claim that we believe in what Allah ﷻ says in the Qur’an 100%.
But do our actions show it?
Does our actions show that we believe in Jannah?
Is it because we cannot comprehend it?

Is it because we cannot comprehend the Kalaam of Allah ﷻ that we do not submit ourselves to strive for it?
_
We need to fix up, Death waits for nobody, not even the Prophets عليه السلام.
_
May Allah ﷻ forgive us all and grant us the best in the hereafter.
