*Surah Al-Insan – Verse 11*

Allah informs us of the statement of His believing slaves in surah al-Insan [76] and how He will protect them by saying
*إِنَّا نَخَافُ مِن رَّبِّنَا يَوْمًا عَبُوسًا قَمْطَرِيرًا ▪️ فَوَقَاهُمُ اللَّـهُ شَرَّ ذَٰلِكَ الْيَوْمِ وَلَقَّاهُمْ نَضْرَةً وَسُرُورًا*
*“Indeed, We fear from our Lord a Day austere and distressful.” ▪️ So Allah will protect them from the evil of that Day and give them radiance and happiness. [10-11]*
*Imam ibn Jarir al-Tabari* began his explanation of ayah 11 by writing:
*يقول جل ثناؤه: فدفع الله عنهم ما كانوا في الدنيا يحذرون من شر اليوم العبوس القمطرير بما كانوا في الدنيا يعملون مما يرضي عنهم ربهم، لقَّاهم نضرة في وجوههم، وسرورا في قلوبهم.*
Allah is saying: So Allah will protect them from the evil of that austere and distressful day that they used to take precautions against during their worldly lives, and He will do that because of the actions that they used to do during their worldly lives which made their Lord pleased with them. He will give them radiance on their faces and happiness in their hearts.
