ACKNOWLEDGING AND APPRECIATING ALLAAH’S (ﷻ) FAVOUR IN ALL AFFAIRS
Whatever wins, strength or favour we receive solely comes from Allaah (ﷻ).
How many times have we been heedless in attributing the wisdom, knowledge and even gratified efforts we gain to Allaah (ﷻ)?
Allaah (ﷻ) stated in Qur’an chapter 4;
مَّا يَفۡعَلُ ٱللَّهُ بِعَذَابِكُمۡ إِن شَكَرۡتُمۡ وَءَامَنتُمۡۚ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ شَاكِرًا عَلِيمٗا
What would Allaah do with your punishment if you are grateful and believe? And ever is Allaah Appreciative and Knowing.
[Surah An-Nisa’, Ayah 147]
This clearly shows that whoever is consistent in shukr- appreciation and thankfulness to Allaah (ﷻ) will be saved from his chastisement which is the most severe.
Then He (ﷻ) ensured to remind us of the fact that He (ﷻ) is all aware and all knowing of what is concealed within us.
Allaah (ﷻ) also said in Qur’an chapter 14;
وَإِذۡ تَأَذَّنَ رَبُّكُمۡ لَئِن شَكَرۡتُمۡ لَأَزِيدَنَّكُمۡۖ وَلَئِن كَفَرۡتُمۡ إِنَّ عَذَابِي لَشَدِيدٞ
And [remember] when your Lord proclaimed, ‘If you are grateful, I will surely increase you [in favor]; but if you deny, indeed, My punishment is severe.'”
[Surah Ibrahim, Ayah 7]
Finally, Allaah (ﷻ) said in Qur’an chapter 34;
یَعۡمَلُونَ لَهُۥ مَا یَشَاۤءُ مِن مَّحَـٰرِیبَ وَتَمَـٰثِیلَ وَجِفَانࣲ كَٱلۡجَوَابِ وَقُدُورࣲ رَّاسِیَـٰتٍۚ ٱعۡمَلُوۤا۟ ءَالَ دَاوُۥدَ شُكۡرࣰاۚ وَقَلِیلࣱ مِّنۡ عِبَادِیَ ٱلشَّكُورُ
They made for him what he willed of elevated chambers, statues, bowls like reservoirs, and stationary kettles. [We said], “Work, O family of David, in gratitude.” And few of My servants are grateful.
[Surah Saba’, Ayah 13]
Our Lord! Grant us the power and ability that we may be grateful for Your favours which You have bestowed on us and our parents and that we may do righteous deeds that will please You and admit us by Your mercy among Your righteous slaves”.
آمِيْن يَارَبَّ الْعَالَمِينْ
