Benefits & Importance
Allah ﷻ says
إِنَّ ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ خُلِقَ هَلُوعًا
Verily, man was created very impatient;
Then, Allah ﷻ explains this statement by saying,
إِذَا مَسَّهُ الشَّرُّ جَزُوعاً
distressed when touched with evil,
Meaning, whenever any harm touches him he is frightful, worried and completely taken back due to the severity of his terror and his despair that he will receive any good after it.
وَإِذَا مَسَّهُ الْخَيْرُ مَنُوعاً
And suppressive when good touches him
Meaning, if he attains any blessing from Allah ﷻ, he is stingy with it, not sharing it with others. He will withhold the right of Allah ﷻ with that blessing.
إِلاَّ الْمُصَلِّينَ
except those who pray,
Meaning, man is described with blameworthy characteristics except for He whom Allah ﷻ protects, helps and guides to good, making its means easy for him – and these are those people who perform Salah.
ٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ عَلَىٰ صَلَاتِهِمْ دَآئِمُونَ
Those who are constant in their prayer
[70:19-23]
It has been said that this means they guard its times and the elements obligatory in it. It has also been said that it means tranquility and humble concentration.
_
Allah ﷻ also says in the Qur’an
إِنَّ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ تَنْهَىٰ عَنِ ٱلْفَحْشَآءِ وَٱلْمُنكَرِ ۗ
Indeed, prayer prohibits immorality and wrongdoing,
[29:45]
Prayer includes two things: the first of which is giving up immoral behavior and evil deeds, i.e., praying regularly enables a person to give up these things.

So why do you not pray?
When, You want to control your anger?
Your desires?
You want to please your parents?
You want Allah ﷻ to be pleased with you?
You want to remove bad habits?
_
Start with As Salah.
_
Perfect the intention and then perfect the Salah.
And with Mujahadah (striving) and work, eventually the disobedience will go away.
_
The Salah improves a person on so many levels and brings the slave closer to Allah ﷻ!
It keeps him Humble, bowing down to the Almighty!
_
Benefit upon Benefit!
What keeps you away from it?
_
Wallahi! It is a Pillar of Islam! A foundation!
_
How do you expect to go to Jannah, to enjoy the bliss of the hereafter, when you don’t complete the basic components of Islam!
