Hellfire – What a calamity we must strive to avoid.
Allah ﷻ talks about Hell, He says
إِنَّآ أَنذَرْنَٰكُمْ عَذَابًۭا قَرِيبًۭا
Surely we have warned you of a Near Punishment.
[78:40]
Meaning we have been warned of the Punishment of Allah ﷻ so now it is incumbent that we strive to avoid it at all costs!

And if we don’t what will we get?
فَذُوقُوا۟ فَلَن نَّزِيدَكُمْ إِلَّا عَذَابًا
So taste [the punishment] indeed we will not increase you except in punishment!
[78:30]
_
And as for the wicked, Allah ﷻ says
لَّبِثِينَ فِيهَآ أَحْقَابًۭا
They shall remain in it for ages [unending]
[78:23]
_
The Mufasireen mention that 1 Huqb is 80 years.
_
Many of us may be made to enter Hellfire to purify us before we enter Jannah for however long Allah ﷻ pleases.
But ask yourself, can you bear the flame of this Dunya burning you for 5 minutes?
So how will you be when Allah ﷻ says for such and such crime you will remain for such and such Ahqaab?

And Imagine when the people of Hell enter Hell,
حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا جَآءُوهَا فُتِحَتْ أَبْوَٰبُهَا وَقَالَ لَهُمْ خَزَنَتُهَآ أَلَمْ يَأْتِكُمْ رُسُلٌۭ مِّنكُمْ يَتْلُونَ عَلَيْكُمْ ءَايَٰتِ رَبِّكُمْ وَيُنذِرُونَكُمْ لِقَآءَ يَوْمِكُمْ هَٰذَا ۚ قَالُوا۟ بَلَىٰ
Until when they reach it and the Doors are opened and its keepers will say Did not the Messengers come to you from yourselves, reciting to you the Verses of your Lord, and warning you of the Meeting of this Day of yours?” They will say: “Yes!
قِيلَ ٱدْخُلُوٓا۟ أَبْوَٰبَ جَهَنَّمَ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا ۖ
It shall be said: Enter the gates of Hell to abide therein; so evil is the abode of the proud.
[39:71-72]

Can you imagine, their sorrow when they see the people they laughed at, Ahlul Jannah enjoying their reward?
_
And where will be Ahlul Jannah?
Allah ﷻ says:
فَٱلْيَوْمَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ مِنَ ٱلْكُفَّارِ يَضْحَكُونَ
On that day those who believed will laugh at those who disbelieved
عَلَى ٱلْأَرَآئِكِ يَنظُرُونَ
On highly placed thrones, looking.
[83:34-35]

Just ask yourself…
Which side will you be on?
The people of Jannah who will laugh?
Or the people of Hellfire who will be laughed at?
