FOR THE SAKE OF ALLAH ﷻ
Sahl bin Mu’adh [bin Anas] Al-Juhni narrated from his father:
The Prophet (ﷺ) said: “Whoever gives for the sake of Allah, withholds for the sake of Allah, loves for the sake of Allah, hates for the sake of Allah, and marries for the sake of Allah, he has indeed perfected his faith.”
[Abu eesa (At-Tirmidhi) said, ‘this hadeeth is hasan’ in Jamiat-Tirmidhi 2521] __
Narrated from al-Baraa’ ibn ‘Aazib: The Prophet (ﷺ) said: _“Indeed the strongest bond of faith is to love for the sake of Allah and hate for the sake of Allah.”_ [Musnad Ahmad 18524 Classed as hasan by the commentators on al-Musnad, also classed as hasan by al-Albaani in Saheeh at-Targheeb 3030] __
Narrated by ‘Ubaadah ibn as-Saamit: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: _“[Allah says:] ‘My love is due for those who love one another for My sake; My love is due for those who visit one another for My sake; My love is due for those who help one another for My sake; My love is due for those whose hearts are free of grudges and who uphold ties with one another for My sake.’”_ [Musnad Ahmad 22002. Classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Jaami‘ 4321] __ It is reported that Sufyān Al-Thawrī رحمه الله said: _“If you loved a man for Allāh and then he innovates in Islām and you don’t hate him for it, you never [truly] loved him for Allāh.”_ [Abū Nu’aym, Hilyatu Al-Awliyā 7:34]
