A Means of Attaining Taqwa
Allah ﷻ says in Surah Al-Hadid
يُولِجُ ٱلَّيْلَ فِى ٱلنَّهَارِ وَيُولِجُ ٱلنَّهَارَ فِى ٱلَّيْلِ ۚ
He merges night into day, and merges day into night,
Meaning He does what He wills, He regulates the Days and Nights as He wills, lengthening and shortening them, changing its season as He wills.
وَهُوَ عَلِيمٌۢ بِذَاتِ ٱلصُّدُورِ
And He has full knowledge of what is in the hearts.
[57:6]
Meaning He ﷻ knows the secrets, no matter how concealed they are.

We forget to do Dhikr of Allah ﷻ and we often forget to remember His Might and His Power!
Just look at how the day enters the night and the night covers the day perfectly!
As Allah ﷻ says
وَ جَعَلْنَا نَوْمَكُمْ سُبَاتًا
And we have made sleep a means of rest.
وَ جَعَلْنَا الَّيْلَ لِبَاسًا
And we have made the Night a covering
وَ جَعَلَنَا النَّهَارَ مَعَاشًا
And we have made the day a means of seeking livelihood.
[78:9-11]

This is a Blessing of Allah ﷻ! What if we lived on an Earth where no Night came? Like the Antarctic?
Or an earth where no Daylight came?
_
Don’t you think that the Being, that is Allah ﷻ having the Power over all things, would have power over you and would know what is in your heart?
اللهُ يَعْلَمُ بِمَا يُوْعُوْنَ
Allah knows best what is in their hearts.
[84:23]
_
He ﷻ knows your Likes, Desires, Dislikes, Grievances, Intentions, secrets.
_
So why do we forget Him ﷻ when we are alone?
Why do we forget He is Al Baseer!
As Allah ﷻ says
وَٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍۢ شَهِيدٌ
And Allah is a witness over all things
[58:6, 85:9]
_
We forget the Might and the Power of Allah ﷻ! And fall to the weakness of ourselves!
And in the Qur’an, Allah ﷻ makes the statement,
مَا قَدَرُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ حَقَّ قَدْرِهِۦٓ ۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَقَوِىٌّ عَزِيزٌ
They have not appraised Allah with true appraisal. Indeed, Allah is Powerful and Exalted in Might.
[22:74]

And Allah ﷻ asks us!
مَّا لَكُمْ لَا تَرْجُوْنَ اللهِ وَ قَارًا
What is the matter with you, that you do not appraise Allah with due Grandeur?
[71:13]
_
One of the Salaf said “If the people knew Allah, they would never disobey Him”
_
Meaning Taqwa only comes from knowing Allah ﷻ.
So go learn about Allah ﷻ and His Attributes!
_
May Allah ﷻ grant us a deeper understanding.
آمِيْن يَارَبَّ الْعَالَمِينْ
