﷽
Allah ﷻ Will Harm Them
وَلَا تَحۡسَبَنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَٰفِلًا عَمَّا يَعۡمَلُ ٱلظَّٰلِمُونَۚ إِنَّمَا يُؤَخِّرُهُمۡ لِيَوۡمٖ تَشۡخَصُ فِيهِ ٱلۡأَبۡصَٰرُ
And never think that Allah is unaware of what the wrongdoers do. He only delays them for a Day when eyes will stare [in horror].
-Surah Ibrahim, Ayah 42
_ Abu Sa’id al-Khudri reported: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: لَا ضَرَرَ وَلَا ضِرَارَ مَنْ ضَارَّ ضَرَّهُ اللَّهُ وَمَنْ شَاقَّ شَقَّ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ
“Do not cause harm or return harm. Whoever harms others, Allah will harm him. Whoever is harsh with others, Allah will be harsh with him.”_
[As-Sunan al-Kubrá 11070. Grade: Hasan (fair) according to Al-Albani in Ahkaam al-janaa’iz 16]
_ Abu Sirmah reported: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “Whoever harms [others], Allah will harm him, and whoever causes hardship [to others] Allah will cause hardship to him.”_
[Sunan Abi Dawood 3635, Jami’ at-Tirmidhi 1940, Sunan Ibn Maajah 2342]
There is corroborating evidence in the hadith of Abu Sa‘eed al-Khudri which was narrated by al-Haakim (2345) and al-Bayhaqi (11384), which says:
“There should be neither causing harm nor reciprocating harm. Whoever harms [others], Allah will harm him, and whoever causes hardship [to others], Allah will cause hardship to him.”

Al-Qaari رحمه الله said:
“Whoever harms [others]” means:
harming a believer, and being the first to stir up trouble.
“Allah will harm him” means:
He will requite him for his action, by way of making the punishment fit the crime.
“Whoever causes hardship” means:
By opposing someone and showing hostility towards him,
“Allah will cause hardship to him” means:
He will punish him.
