EPISODE 3️⃣: SABR, PATIENCE
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ ٱسۡتَعِينُواْ بِٱلصَّبۡرِ وَٱلصَّلَوٰةِۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ مَعَ ٱلصَّٰبِرِينَ
O you who have believed, seek help through patience and prayer. Indeed, Allaah is with the patient.
(Al-Baqarah 2:153)
Be patient with what comes your way and the situation that you find yourself. Be patient about the situations you find yourself when helpless…
أَمۡ حَسِبۡتُمۡ أَن تَدۡخُلُواْ ٱلۡجَنَّةَ وَلَمَّا يَأۡتِكُم مَّثَلُ ٱلَّذِينَ خَلَوۡاْ مِن قَبۡلِكُمۖ مَّسَّتۡهُمُ ٱلۡبَأۡسَآءُ وَٱلضَّرَّآءُ وَزُلۡزِلُواْ حَتَّىٰ يَقُولَ ٱلرَّسُولُ وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ مَعَهُۥ مَتَىٰ نَصۡرُ ٱللَّهِۗ أَلَآ إِنَّ نَصۡرَ ٱللَّهِ قَرِيبٞ
Or do you think that you will enter Paradise while such [trial] has not yet come to you as came to those who passed on before you? They were touched by poverty and hardship and were shaken until [even their] messenger and those who believed with him said, “When is the help of Allaah?” Unquestionably, the help of Allaah is near.
(Al-Baqarah 2:214)
The help of Allaah (ﷻ) is near! So you need to be patient.
Avoid complaining and grumbling about your situation and fall to Him in prostration. Be patient and certain that Allaah (ﷻ) is listening to your dua and He will come to your aid.
Remember your situation might be that which you dislike, while it is better for you.
وَعَسَىٰٓ أَن تَكۡرَهُواْ شَيۡـٔٗا وَهُوَ خَيۡرٞ لَّكُمۡۖ وَعَسَىٰٓ أَن تُحِبُّواْ شَيۡـٔٗا وَهُوَ شَرّٞ لَّكُمۡۚ وَٱللَّهُ يَعۡلَمُ وَأَنتُمۡ لَا تَعۡلَمُونَ
But perhaps you hate a thing and it is good for you; and perhaps you love a thing and it is bad for you. And Allaah Knows, while you know not.
(Al-Baqarah 2:216)
My dear brothers and sisters, be patient.
قُلۡ يَٰعِبَادِ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ ٱتَّقُواْ رَبَّكُمۡۚ لِلَّذِينَ أَحۡسَنُواْ فِي هَٰذِهِ ٱلدُّنۡيَا حَسَنَةٞۗ وَأَرۡضُ ٱللَّهِ وَٰسِعَةٌۗ إِنَّمَا يُوَفَّى ٱلصَّٰبِرُونَ أَجۡرَهُم بِغَيۡرِ حِسَابٖ
Say, “O My servants who have believed, fear your Lord. For those who do good in this world is good, and the earth of Allaah is spacious. Indeed, the patient will be given their reward without account.”
(Az-Zumar 39:10)
Ibn Abbas reported: The Messenger of Allaah (ﷺ), said, “Know that there is much good in being patient with what you detest, victory will come with patience, affliction will come with relief, and ‘with hardship will come ease.’” (94:4-5)
(Musnad Aḥmad 2800)
Be patient in staying away from the prohibitions, be patient in doing that which is good, and be patient with the afflictions that befall you.
Suhaib reported: The Messenger of Allaah (ﷺ), said:
Wondrous is the affair of the believer for there is good for him in every matter and this is not the case with anyone except the believer. If he is happy, then he thanks Allaah and thus there is good for him. If he is harmed, then he shows patience and thus there is good for him.
(Sahih Muslim 2999)
رَبَّنَا أَفْرِغْ عَلَيْنَا صَبْرًا وَتَوَفَّنَا مُسْلِمِينَ
Our Lord, pour upon us patience and cause us to die as Muslims [in submission to You].”
