Allah ﷻ says in Surah Hijr
نَبِّئْ عِبَادِىٓ أَنِّىٓ أَنَا ٱلْغَفُورُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ▪️وأَنَّ عَذَابِى هُوَ ٱلْعَذَابُ ٱلْأَلِيمُ
Declare to My servants, that I am truly the Oft-Forgiving, the Most Merciful. And that My torment is indeed the most painful torment.
[15:49-50]
Meaning, `O Muhammad, tell My servants that I am the source of mercy and I am the source of the punishment.
These verses suggests that we must always be in a state between hope for Allah’s mercy and fear of His punishment.

Islam teaches us to worship Allah ﷻ out of love for Him but with a healthy balance of fear and hope.
Allah ﷻ said:
تَتَجَافَىٰ جُنُوبُهُمْ عَنِ ٱلْمَضَاجِعِ يَدْعُونَ رَبَّهُمْ خَوْفًۭا وَطَمَعًۭا وَمِمَّا رَزَقْنَٰهُمْ يُنفِقُونَ
They arise from their beds and they supplicate their Lord in fear and hope, and they spend from what We have provided them.
[32:16]
And Allah said:
إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ يُسَٰرِعُونَ فِى ٱلْخَيْرَٰتِ وَيَدْعُونَنَا رَغَبًۭا وَرَهَبًۭا ۖ وَكَانُوا۟ لَنَا خَٰشِعِينَ
Verily, they would hasten to good deeds and supplicate to Us in hope and fear, and they were humbly submissive to Us.
[21:90]
Al-Bara ibn Azib reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْلَمْتُ وَجْهِي إِلَيْكَ وَفَوَّضْتُ أَمْرِي إِلَيْكَ وَأَلْجَأْتُ ظَهْرِي إِلَيْكَ رَغْبَةً وَرَهْبَةً إِلَيْكَ
O Allah, I submit my face to You and entrust my affair to You. I commit myself to you out of hope and fear of you.
[Sahih Muslim 2710, Grade: Sahih]
Fear of Allah ﷻ means to fear falling into sin and earning His punishment in the Hellfire.
Allah ﷻ says in the Qur’an:
وَٱتَّقُوا۟ يَوْمًۭا تُرْجَعُونَ فِيهِ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ ۖ ثُمَّ تُوَفَّىٰ كُلُّ نَفْسٍۢ مَّا كَسَبَتْ وَهُمْ لَا يُظْلَمُونَ
Fear a Day when you will be returned to Allah. Then every soul will be compensated for what it earned, and they will not be treated unjustly.
[2:281]
Fear of Allah ﷻ makes us think twice before we commit a sin. It is the quality of mindfulness and awareness of Allah that resides inside the heart of a believer.

We need to start coming back to the religion.
Start repenting and Allah ﷻ will forgive.
Leave the desires, Leave the Women, the Money, the Cars, the lifestyle.
Allah ﷻ is Ghafoor and Raheem, He will forgive.
But he is also Al Jabbar, and if He wanted, he could deprive you of oxygen and send you back to Him.
