He (ﷻ) Is The Perfect Judge
Allaah (ﷻ) has beautiful names that describe His attributes of perfection and majesty; one of these names is Al-Adl, which can also be translated as the One Who is very just and fair.
Allaah (ﷻ) does justice to all of His servants.
And Allaah (ﷻ) says in the Holy Qur’an:
إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يَظۡلِمُ مِثۡقَالَ ذَرَّةٍۖ وَإِن تَكُ حَسَنَةً يُضَٰعِفۡهَا وَيُؤۡتِ مِن لَّدُنۡهُ أَجۡرًا عَظِيمًا
Indeed, Allaah does not do injustice, [even] as much as an atom’s weight; while if there is a good deed, He multiplies it and gives from Himself a great reward.
(An-Nisa’ 4:40)
However, we are sometimes too carried away to realize it, either because of our low Imaan (faith) or lack of knowledge about the attributes of Allaah (ﷻ).
How does this name of Allaah (ﷻ) reflect on humans and the environment we live in?
He, Allaah (ﷻ) created humans in the best form. What do you think will happen when the eyebrows grow longer than normal? They would definitely block our eyesight. What if our tongues were longer than how it is? Of course, we will have difficulty talking.
According to scientists, the atmosphere contains approximately 21% of oxygen; but if the concentration of this gas reaches 30% in the atmosphere, even plants that are soaking wet will burn. 40% atmospheric oxygen would cause all the forests to be engulfed in a roaring inferno in a few days or even hours. But Allaah (ﷻ) made this gas in the appropriate proportion in the atmosphere so it won’t be harmful to His creation.
Allaah’s (ﷻ) response to good deeds with good results, and bad deeds with bad results is also a manifestation of His name, Al-Adl. Sending the disbelievers into hell and granting the believers paradise is also a manifestation of His name Al-Adl; but put it at the back of your mind that no person deserves paradise except by His grace and mercy, and we will see this on the day of Reckoning.
The Messenger of Allaah (ﷺ) said: “Fear the prayer of the oppressed, even if he is a disbeliever, for there is no barrier (between it and Allaah).”
(Narrated by Ahmad, 12140; classed as hasan by al-Albaani in Saheeh at-Targheeb wa’t-Tarheeb, 2231)
This Hadith is not to show that He (ﷻ) loves the acts of disbelievers or their disbelief in Him (ﷻ), rather it shows that He (ﷻ) is a just judge to all His servants.
If Allaah (ﷻ) could be this just to the unbelievers, why won’t you also believe that He is aware of your struggles and worries?
The Prophet (ﷺ) said: “There is no Muslim who offers supplication in which there is no sin or severing of ties of kinship, but Allaah will give him one of three things in return for it: either what he asked for will be hastened for him, or (reward) will be stored up for him in the Hereafter or an equivalent evil will be diverted from him.”
(Narrated by Ahmad, 10749; classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Mishkaat al-Masaabeeh, 2199)

Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah (رحمه الله) said:
Allaah is not to be questioned about what He does because of His perfect wisdom, mercy and justice, not just because of His subjugation of creation and His might.
(End quote from Majmoo‘ al-Fataawa 8/511).
Oh fellow servants of Allaah (ﷻ), we should mirror this name in all our affairs, including our relationships with our spouses, family members, neighbors, friends, business partners, and others.
May Allaah (ﷻ) help us to be just in every situation and may He (ﷻ) envelope us in His Mercy and Forgiveness.
