Consequences Of Evil Deeds
Allah ﷻ says in Surah An-Nahl
هَلْ يَنظُرُونَ إِلَّآ أَن تَأْتِيَهُمُ ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ
Do the disbelievers await [anything] except that the angels should come to them
Meaning, the Angel of Death and the other Angels coming to extract the soul.
أَوْ يَأْتِيَ أَمْرُ رَبِّكَ ۚ
or there comes the command of your Lord
Meaning the day of Judgement and the terror on that day.
كَذَٰلِكَ فَعَلَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ ۚ
Thus did those do before them.
The people of the past are examples of heedlessness who received the wrath of Allah ﷻ eventually after continual persistence.
وَمَا ظَلَمَهُمُ اللَّهُ
And Allah never wronged them,
because He ﷻ gave them enough warning and clearly demonstrated His proofs to them.
وَلَٰكِن كَانُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَهُمْ يَظْلِمُونَ
but they were wronging themselves.
Meaning, by opposing the Messengers and denying what they brought. For this reason Allah’s punishment tormented them.
فَأَصَابَهُمْ سَيِّئَاتُ مَا عَمِلُوا وَحَاقَ بِهِمْ مَا كَانُوا بِهِ يَسْتَهْزِئُونَ
Then the evil ˹consequences˺ of their deeds overtook them, and they were overwhelmed by what they used to ridicule.
[16:33-34]

Only Allah ﷻ knows what is happening to him in the grave, and what happened to him that day…
_
But you & I should contemplate and reflect!
How many times have we wronged ourselves by not following the command of Allah ﷻ and on top of it… Not repenting!
_
Do we wait for Death or Qiyamah like it will never arrive?
_
The truth is nobody can cure nor save those whom Allah ﷻ wishes Death upon.
_
