BE GUIDED! DON’T TURN YOUR DUA TO SHIRK

In today’s world, misguidance has spread upon the earth than its cure – guidance. Hence, many among the ummah has been successfully misguided by those whom they looked up to for guidance.
Such are the scholars of the Ahl Bidah, whom by their half knowledge, greedy minds, love for money and bidah cooked up spicy innovations (what pleases the mind) and serve it in a golden plate (by eloquent speech) to their followers, among such smoothly fashioned innovations is slaughtering to other than Allaah (ﷻ).
It is reported in the hadith of Abu Tufail (رضي الله عنه) that:
‘قَالَ قُلْنَا لِعَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ أَخْبِرْنَا بِشَىْءٍ، أَسَرَّهُ إِلَيْكَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَقَالَ:مَا أَسَرَّ إِلَىَّ شَيْئًا كَتَمَهُ النَّاسَ وَلَكِنِّي سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ ”لَعَنَ اللَّهُ مَنْ ذَبَحَ لِغَيْرِ اللَّهِ وَلَعَنَ اللَّهُ مَنْ آوَى مُحْدِثًا وَلَعَنَ اللَّهُ مَنْ لَعَنَ وَالِدَيْهِ وَلَعَنَ اللَّهُ مَنْ غَيَّرَ الْمَنَارَ الأرض”’
‘We said to ‘Ali ibn Abi Talib (رضي الله عنه): ‘Inform us about something which Allaah’s Messenger (ﷺ) told you in secret’, whereupon he said: ‘He (ﷺ) told me nothing in secret which he hid from people, but I heard him say: Allaah cursed him who sacrificed for anyone besides Allaah, Allaah cursed him who accommodated an innovator; and Allaah cursed him who cursed his parents and Allaah cursed him who changed the boundary lines (of the land possessed by him).”‘
[Sahih Muslim 1978 b- Book 35, Hadith 61]

How does it happened that a person deliberately slaughter to other than Allaah (ﷻ)?
Intention – All actions are to be judged according to the underlying intention of the doer as narrated in the hadith of Umar ibn al-Khattab (رضي الله عنه) that the Messenger of Allaah (ﷺ), said, “Verily, deeds are only with intentions and every person will have only what they intended.
[Sahih Bukhari, Book 1 Hadith 1]
So, a man may slaughter an animal and say “I have slaughtered this for Allaah”.
But truly, is that all about it?
Do we sincerely wake up and wish to slaughter a camel, cow, goat or an animal as small as a hen as sadaqah to Allaah (ﷻ) with no strings attached?
Or supposedly, one (unguided) Ustadh or scholar has said ‘you must shed/spill blood for…:’
▪️ ‘…the acceptance of your prayer.’
▪️ ‘…you to get what you are sincerely soliciting from Allaah (ﷻ)’
▪️ ‘…the rawaniyah behind a particular surah’
Or even worse
▪️ ‘so that you won’t become lean as a result of the surah consuming your blood’ (this has been mostly associated with Surah Ya’Sin. A lovely Surah has been turned into a blood consuming demon – vampire).
All these among other such fabrications.
And Allaah (ﷻ) says
فَصَلِّ لِرَبِّكَ وَٱنۡحَرۡ
So pray to your Lord and sacrifice [to Him alone].
[Surah Al-Kawthar, Ayah 2]

Sadaqah is indisputably a means of earning Allaah’s (ﷻ) pleasure but ‘beware of sacrificing to other than Him (ﷻ) when it is beautified for you.’
Your sadaqah does not necessarily have to be a sacrificial animal. You can as well pay off someone’s debt or let go of a debt owed to you, pay the bills of a sick who can not afford the bills, feed and or cloth the poor, build a Masjid, dig a well for a community, send someone on Hajj or Umrah, adopt an orphan and much more.
There is no basis for sadaqah in sacrificing an animal basically for Allaah (ﷻ) to accept your dua. Otherwise, this is bidah and it is not known from the Sunnah of our Salafs.
Or you are probably saying Allaah (ﷻ) is not Someone Who gives except you give to Him first (Subhanallaah – May Allaah distance us from such belief)
Let us be guided
May we all be guided and be counted among the sincere servants of Allaah (ﷻ) who spend solely for Him. May His mercy encompass us all till eternity.
