OBEDIENCE TO ALLAAH (ﷻ)

LET’S DISCIPLINE OURSELVES

As human beings, each of us have shortcomings. Whoever acknowledges that he or she has shortcomings has started on the path to self-discipline. This acknowledgement is one of the things that make us discipline ourselves and be persistent in doing so and seeking forgiveness regularly. This acknowledgement should not put you off disciplining yourself. It is a sign of Allaah’s (ﷻ) care when a person tries to change himself and develop, as Allaah (ﷻ) says:
إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يُغَيِّرُ مَا بِقَوۡمٍ حَتَّىٰ يُغَيِّرُواْ مَا بِأَنفُسِهِمۡۗ وَإِذَآ أَرَادَ ٱللَّهُ بِقَوۡمٍ سُوٓءًا فَلَا مَرَدَّ لَهُۥۚ وَمَا لَهُم مِّن دُونِهِۦ مِن وَالٍ
Indeed, Allaah will not change the condition of a people until they change what is in themselves. And when Allaah intends for a people ill, there is no repelling it. And there is not for them besides Him any patron.
(Ar-Ra’d 13:11)
Whoever strives to change for the sake of Allaah (ﷻ), He will help him to change.
Each person is individually responsible for his own self and will be questioned individually, as Allaah (ﷻ) says:
إِن كُلُّ مَن فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ إِلَّآ ءَاتِى ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ عَبۡدًا
There is no one in the heavens and earth but that he comes to the Most Merciful as a servant.
لَّقَدۡ أَحۡصَىٰهُمۡ وَعَدَّهُمۡ عَدًّا
He has enumerated them and counted them a [full] counting.
وَكُلُّهُمۡ ءَاتِيهِ يَوۡمَ ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِ فَرۡدًا
And all of them are coming to Him on the Day of Resurrection alone.
(Maryam 19:93-95)
There is none in the heavens and the earth but comes unto the Most Gracious as a slave.
Let’s strive to discipline ourselves by declaring war against our selfish heart desires which has no place in Islam. Fast, pray, and be full of hope that Allaah (ﷻ) will forgive your sins.
May Allaah (ﷻ) keep guiding us all.
