🕌 49. Standing with Humility
This means standing properly before Allaah (ﷻ) when praying, bearing in mind the greatness of Allaah (ﷻ), and what he is expected to do of focusing with humility.
Allaah (ﷻ) says in the Qur’ān (interpretation of the meaning):
“…and stand before Allaah with obedience”.
[Al-Baqaarah 2:238].
Ibn al-Qayyim (rahimahullah) said: Every individual must stand before Allaah (ﷻ) twice: when he stands before Him (ﷻ) in prayer and when he stands before Him on the Day he meets Him (ﷻ). Whoever stands before Him (ﷻ) as he should in the first instance, the second standing will be made easy for him, but whoever is heedless with regard to this standing, and does not stand before Him (in prayer) as he should, that standing (on the Day of Resurrection) will be made difficult for him.
[al-Fawaa’id – p. 200].

🕌 50. Not Missing out of the Reward of Salaah thereof
This is by keen to make one’s prayer perfect and not missing the reward thereof.
Imam Ahmad (18415) narrated that ‘Ammaar ibn Yaasir (رضي الله عنه) said: I heard the Messenger of Allaah (ﷺ) say: A person may offer a prayer and nothing of it is recorded for him except one tenth of it, one ninth of it, one eighth of it, one seventh of it, one sixth of it, one fifth of it, one quarter of it, one third of it, or half of it.”
[Classed as hasan by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Jaami‘ 1626].

🕌 51. Reflecting Deeply upon the Meaning of Qur’ān and Adhkaar
Reflecting upon the meanings of the adhkaar of the prayer and the verses of Qur’ān that one recites in the prayer; this is one of the greatest means of attaining presence of mind and not letting one’s heart be distracted.
Allaah (ﷻ) says (interpretation of the meaning):
“(This is) a Book (the Qur’ān) which We have sent down to you, full of blessings that they may ponder over its verses, and that men of understanding may remember.”
[Saad 38:29].
Narrated Jabir ibn Abdullah (رضي الله عنه): The Messenger of Allaah (ﷺ) came to us while we were reciting the Qur’ān, and there were among us Bedouins and the non-Arabs. He said: Recite, all is well. In the near future, there will appear people who will straighten it (the Qur’ān) as an arrow is straightened. They will recite it quickly and not slowly (or it means that they will get the reward in this world and not in the Hereafter).
[Sahih, Sunan AbiDawud 830].
It was reported that the Prophet (ﷺ) spent a night repeating one aayah until morning came. The aayah was (interpretation of the meaning): “If you punish them, they are Your slaves, and if You forgive them, verily You, only You are the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.” [Surah al-Maa’idah 5:118].
[Reported by IbnKhuzaymah, 1/271 and Ahmad, 5/149;Sifat al-Salaah, p. 102].
Hudhayfah (رضي الله عنه) said: “I prayed with the Messenger of Allaah (ﷺ) one night… he was reciting at length. If he recited an aayah that mentioned tasbeeh, he would say SubhaanAllaah; if it mentioned a question, he would ask a question; if it mentioned seeking refuge with Allaah, he would seek refuge with Allaah.”
[Muslim, no. 772, Ta’zeem Qadras-Salaah, 1/327].
One of the Sahaabah – Qatadah Ibn an-Nu’maan (رضي الله عنه) prayed qiyaam at night and did not recite anything but Qul Huwa Allaah Ahad (Surah Al-Ikhlas), repeating it and not adding anything more.
[Al-Bukhaari, al-Fath, 9/59; Ahmad, 3/43].
