Beware of these Traits

Allah ﷻ says about the Day of Judgement:
يَوْمَ لاَ يَنفَعُ مَالٌ وَلاَ بَنُونَ
The Day whereon neither wealth nor sons will avail,
[26:88]
Means, a man’s wealth will not protect him from the punishment of Allah ﷻ, even if he were to pay a ransom equivalent to an earthful of gold.
On that Day nothing will be of any avail except faith in Allah ﷻ and sincere devotion to Him, and renunciation of Shirk and its people.
Allah ﷻ says:
إِلَّا مَنۡ أَتَى ٱللَّهَ بِقَلۡبࣲ سَلِیمࣲ
Except him who brings to Allaah a sound heart.
[26:89]
Meaning, free from any impurity or Shirk.
Ibn Sirin رحمه الله said, “The clean heart knows that Allaah is true, that the Hour will undoubtedly come and that Allaah will resurrect those who are in the graves.”

As Prophet ﷺ said: “The thing that I fear most for you is minor shirk.” They said: “O Messenger of Allaah, what is minor shirk?” He said: “Showing off, for Allaah will say on the Day when people are recompensed for their actions: ‘Go to those for whom you were showing off with your deeds in the world, and see what reward you find with them.”
[Musnad Aḥmad 23119, Classed as Sahih by Al-Albani]

In another striking Ayaat, Allah ﷻ says:
فَوَیۡلࣱ لِّلۡمُصَلِّینَ▪️ٱلَّذِینَ هُمۡ عَن صَلَاتِهِمۡ سَاهُونَ
Woe to those who pray, those are unmindful of their prayers.
[107:4-5]

Anas رضي الله عنه reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
“This is the prayer of the hypocrites: He sits watching the sun decline until it is between the two horns of Satan, then he quickly pecks the ground four times while he only remembers Allah for a few moments.”
[Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 622]

الَّذِينَ هُمْ يُرَآءُونَ
Those who do good deeds only to be seen,
[107:6]

As Prophet ﷺ said “Whoever tries to make the people hear of his deed, Allaah, the One Who hears His creation, will hear it and make him despised and degraded”
[Musnad Ahmad]

May Allah ﷻ protect us and grant us forgiveness.
