Choose your Companions Wisely

Allah ﷻ says in Surah Az-Zukhruf

وَمَن یَعۡشُ

And whoever turns a blind eye

Means, whoever willfully ignores and turns away.

عَن ذِكۡرِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ

from the remembrance of the Most Gracious,

نُقَیِّضۡ لَهُۥ شَیۡطَـٰنࣰا فَهُوَ لَهُۥ قَرِینࣱ

We appoint for him a devil, and he is to him a companion.

وَإِنَّهُمْ لَيَصُدُّونَهُمْ عَنِ السَّبِيلِ وَيَحْسَبُونَ أَنَّهُم مُّهْتَدُونَ

And indeed, the devils avert them from the way [of guidance] while they think that they are [rightly] guided

The person who wilfully neglects The Guidance, Allah ﷻ sends him a Shaytaan which leads him astray without him knowing.

حَتَّىٰۤ إِذَا جَاۤءَنَا

Until, when he comes to Us,
Coming and standing before Allah ﷻ on Qiyamah.

قَالَ یَـٰلَیۡتَ بََبَیۡنَكَ بُعۡدَ ٱلۡمَشۡرِقَیۡنِ

he says [to his companion], “Oh, I wish there was between me and you the distance between the east and west

فَبِئْسَ الْقَرِينُ

how wretched a companion.”

وَلَن یَنفَعَكُمُ ٱلۡیَوۡمَ إِذ ظَّلَمۡتُمۡ أَنَّكُمۡ فِی ٱلۡعَذَابِ مُشۡتَرِكُونَ

And never will it benefit you that Day, when you have wronged, that you are [all] sharing in the punishment.
[43:36-39]
Means, `your being together in the Fire will not help you in the slightest, and you will both partake of the painful punishment.’

سبحان الله

Choose your companions wisely,
Not only your friends but the people whom you take as role models and emulate.
_
It is always the case, that when we are far from the religion, we take role models who are terrible!
We take friends who are also away from the Deen!
_
And everyone is misled by each other!
_
But know that you will blame that role model on Qiyamah,
You will blame your friend,
You will blame your lover,
You will blame them in front of Allah ﷻ!
_
But as Allah ﷻ says, you will both partake in the punishment.
_
Choose the right companions!
Man is on the religion of his friend! The words of Muhammad ﷺ the speaker of Haqq!
_
So Fear Allah! And choose wisely, before you are returned to Allah ﷻ!
_
May Allah grant us goodness and protect us from Fitna.
