﷽
Work for the hereafter
Allah ﷻ says in the Qur’an:
وَمَا ٱلۡحَیَوٰةُ ٱلدُّنۡیَاۤ إِلَّا لَعِبࣱ وَلَهۡوࣱۖ
And what is the life of this world but play and amusement.
وَلَلدَّارُ ٱلۡـَٔاخِرَةُ خَیۡرࣱ لِّلَّذِینَ یَتَّقُونَۚ
But far better is the abode of the Hereafter for those who have Taqwa.
Do you know what the Ayah finishes with?
أَفَلَا تَعۡقِلُونَ
Will you not understand?
[6:32]
Allah ﷻ admonishes us in the Qur’an!
He gives us the comparison, this Dunya is only temporary play and amusement!
But the Akhirah is better!
وَلَلۡـَٔاخِرَةُ خَیۡرࣱ لَّكَ مِنَ ٱلۡأُولَىٰ
And the Akhirah is better for you than the former life (Dunya)
[93:4]

Have we lost our minds then?
Our sense of reason?
That we strive for this Dunya!
The one that is temporary, the one that worth less than a dead goat in the street, according to one Hadith!
In another Hadith the one that is worth less than the wing of a mosquito!
And the Prophet ﷺ never spoke except it was the truth.
So have we lost our minds then?

The Prophet ﷺ said:
“The wise one is the one who subdues his desires and works for what is after Death, and the stupid one is the one who subdues himself to his desires and seeks from Allah the fulfilment of vain desires.“
[At-Tirmidhi]

How many of us, are the stupid one?! Have we then, lost our reasoning?
_
Abdullah ibn Al Mubarak رحمه الله said:
And the Dunya is like a piece of snow, it is inexpensive and it perishes rapidly. But the Akhirah is like a rare jewel, extremely expensive and it does not perish.
_
And how many of us are chasing a dead goat, the mosquitos wing, the piece of snow?!!
_
When Allah ﷻ Has set aside a Jannah,
Work for it..
