﷽
Some of their Qualities
Allah ﷻ says in the Qur’an:
قَد أَفلَحَ المُؤمِنُون
Indeed successful are the believers
[23:1]
Who are they?
ٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ فِى صَلَاتِهِمْ خَٰشِعُونَ
They who are during their prayer humbly submissive
وَٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ عَنِ ٱللَّغْوِ مُعْرِضُونَ
And they who turn away from ill speech
وَٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ لِلزَّكَوٰةِ فَٰعِلُونَ
And they who are observant of zakah
وَٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ لِفُرُوجِهِمْ حَٰفِظُونَ
And they who guard their private parts
إِلَّا عَلَىٰٓ أَزْوَٰجِهِمْ أَوْ مَا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَٰنُهُمْ فَإِنَّهُمْ غَيْرُ مَلُومِينَ
Except from their wives or those their right hands possess, for indeed, they will not be blamed –
فَمَنِ ٱبْتَغَىٰ وَرَآءَ ذَٰلِكَ فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْعَادُونَ
But whoever seeks beyond that, then those are the transgressors –
وَٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ لِأَمَٰنَٰتِهِمْ وَعَهْدِهِمْ رَٰعُونَ
those who are true to their trusts and covenants;
وَٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ عَلَىٰ صَلَوَٰتِهِمْ يُحَافِظُونَ
And they who carefully maintain their prayers –
[Qur’an 23:2-9]
_
Those are a few descriptions of the righteous!
And what is their success?
أُولَٰئِكَ هُمُ الوَارِثُون
They are the inheritors
الَّذِينَ يَرِثُونَ الْفِرْدَوْسَ هُمْ فِيهَا خَالِدُونَ
Who will inherit al-Firdaus. They will abide therein eternally.
[23:10-11]
_
So act with sincerity and engage in worship and good deeds,
So that you may gain success in this world and the hereafter!
_
And don’t sell the success of Akhirah for the success of Dunya.
For Allah ﷻ says about the Dunya
كُلُّ مَن عَلَيهَا فَان
Everything on it shall perish
[55:26]
_
And about the Akhirah
خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا أَبَدًا
They shall remain in it forever.
[72:23]
_

Turn to Allah ﷻ, and act upon His commands and worship Him!

May Allah ﷻ forgive our shortcomings and make us among the successful believers.
