Obtain Taqwa

Allah ﷻ is the most beneficent!
Do you know what Allah ﷻ says in the Qur’an?

وَ رَحمَتِي وَسِعَت كُلِّ شَئٍ

And my mercy encompasses everything.

فَسَأَكتُبُهَا لِلَّذِينَ يَتَّقُون

And I shall ordain it for those who have Taqwa.
[7:156]

In a Hadith
A bedouin man came, he made his camel kneel and he tied it. Then he prayed behind the Messenger of Allah. When the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) finished the prayer, that man untied his camel mounted it and supplicated aloud,
“O Allah! Grant Your mercy to me and to Muhammad, and do not give a share in it to anyone else.”

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) commented “Do you think that this man is more misguided or his camel Did you not hear what this man has said?”
They said “Yes”
So he ﷺ said “You (the bedouin man) have restricted a vast mercy! Allah, the Exalted, the most Honored has created a hundred mercies and sent down one of them by which the creation, men, Jinn and animals, show mercy to each other. He left with Him ninety-nine mercies, so do you say that this man is more misguided or his camel”

Jabir رضي الله عنه reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
“None of you will enter Paradise by his good deeds alone, nor would you be rescued from the Hellfire, not even myself, but for the mercy of Allah.”
[Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 2817]

Allah ﷻ clarifies and announces that His mercy encompasses all things!
He is Ar Rahman! The most merciful!
This is His attribute and He has mercy on whom He wishes!
_
But look at the condition Allah ﷻ stipulates!
لِلَّذِينَ يَتَّقُون

For those who have Taqwa!
[7:156]

And what is Taqwa?
Taqwa according to Abu Hurayrah رضي الله عنه,
When you traverse a thorny path, while avoiding all the thorns in your way!
_
To earn the mercy of Allah ﷻ, it means we have an effort, to obey and to avoid disobeying Allah ﷻ!
Even if what we do doesn’t amount to much!
_
But we must be truthful with ourselves and with Allah ﷻ, that yes, we tried our utmost to be the best we can be in terms of our Deen!
