Constantly Turn Back to Allah ﷻ
Allah ﷻ says in the Qur’an:
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ تُوبُوٓاْ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ تَوۡبَةٗ نَّصُوحًا عَسَىٰ رَبُّكُمۡ أَن يُكَفِّرَ عَنكُمۡ سَيِّـَٔاتِكُمۡ وَيُدۡخِلَكُمۡ جَنَّٰتٖ تَجۡرِي مِن تَحۡتِهَا ٱلۡأَنۡهَٰرُ يَوۡمَ لَا يُخۡزِي ٱللَّهُ ٱلنَّبِيَّ وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ مَعَهُۥۖ
O you who have believed, repent to Allah with sincere repentance. Perhaps your Lord will remove from you your misdeeds and admit you into gardens beneath which rivers flow [on] the Day when Allah will not disgrace the Prophet and those who believed with him.
نُورُهُمۡ يَسۡعَىٰ بَيۡنَ أَيۡدِيهِمۡ وَبِأَيۡمَٰنِهِمۡ يَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَآ أَتۡمِمۡ لَنَا نُورَنَا وَٱغۡفِرۡ لَنَآۖ إِنَّكَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيۡءٖ قَدِيرٞ
Their light will proceed before them and on their right; they will say, “Our Lord, perfect for us our light and forgive us. Indeed, You are over all things competent.”
[66:8]

الله أكبر
Repent now, whilst you are here in this place!
Turn your heart away from past regrets and return back!
All of your sins will be forgiven!
_
When Allah ﷻ uses the word عسى meaning perhaps or maybe, in the Qur’an it is a word of definitiveness, meaning He shall.
_
The Prophet ﷺ said as part of a longer Hadith
انما الاعمال بالنيات
Indeed actions are according to intentions.
[Sahih al-Bukhari 54, Sahih Muslim 1907]
_
So we must begin by making our repentance to Allah ﷻ sincere and purely for the sake of Allah ﷻ!
_
Because Tawbah is an action of the heart between a slave and his Master, Allah ﷻ.
_
Real sincere Tawbah, is done in a few steps,
- Regret & Guilt from the sins
- Intention to never commit it
- Never committing the sin again.
- If you wronged another person, you must seek forgiveness from them as well [there are exceptions in this regard]
_
And another benefir from the benefits of repentance, aside from the one mentioned above,
إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُحِبُّ ٱلتَّوَّبِينَ
Indeed, Allah loves those who are constantly repentant
[2:222]
_
This is how we should be constantly turning back to Allah ﷻ,
We may fail, but we must try and try and try!
Carry on repenting and seeking forgiveness and the mercy of Allah ﷻ!
_
May Allah ﷻ make us among those who are repenting and keep us steadfast upon His deen.
آمِيْن يَارَبَّ الْعَالَمِينْ
