Allah ﷻ says about Prophet Nuh
Verily, he was a grateful servant.
[17:3]
_
Imam Ahmad رحمه الله reported that
Anas bin Malik رضي الله عنه said: “The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
“Allah will be pleased with His servant if, when he eats something or drinks something, he praises Allah for it”
[Sahih Muslim: 6932]
_
Similarly Allah ﷻ says about Prophet Ibrahim
He was thankful for his favours
He (Allah) chose him and guided him to the straight path.
[16:121]
_
And Ibrahim عليه السلام used to call upon Allah ﷻ
O our Lord! Certainly, You know what we conceal and what we reveal.
Nothing on the earth or in the heaven is hidden from Allah.’
[14:38]
He then praises and thanks Allah ﷻ
All praise is due to Allah, Who has given me in old age Isma’il and Ishaq. Verily, my Lord is indeed the All-Hearer of invocations.
[14:39]
_
We must always be grateful to Allah ﷻ, saying الحمد الله in every state.
Good or bad, repeat الحمد الله على كل حال to remind yourself!
Be grateful for the Islam that guides you!
The oxygen that you breath in, Food which nourishes you, the drink which quenches your thirst, the shelter which warms you!
_
The Ambiya عليهم السلام faced greater trials, and they were all patient and thankful to Allah ﷻ throughout, which distinguishes them.
This is what we need to strive towards!
As Allah ﷻ says
So remember Me, I will remember you. Be thankful to Me and do not be ungrateful.
[2:152]
_
Du’a and gratefulness for whatever comes your way, is the path of contentment and the path to Jannah, through “باب الذكر” means the gate of remembrance.
_
May Allah make us among the people of Alhamdulillah, forgive our shortcomings and Grant us Jannatul Firdaus
