Conscise Dua Against Misconducts
Abdullah ibn Mas’ud (رضي الله عنه) relates that the Prophet (ﷺ) would supplicate:
اَللّٰهُمَّ إِنِّىْ اَسْئَلُكَ الْهُدَى وَ التُّقَى وَ الْعَفَافَ وَ الْغِنَى
Allahumma inni as ‘alukal-huda wat-tuqa wal-‘afafa wal-ghina.
O Allaah, verily, I ask You for guidance (Huda) and piety (Tuqa), abstinence (from begging people) (‘Afaf) and contentment (Ghina).

At-Teebee (Rahimahullāh) said:
Al-Huda (right guidance) and at-Taqwa (piety, righteousness) have been mentioned in an absolutely unrestricted manner so that they would be inclusive of everything that is necessary to be guided to – including the matters of one’s livelihood, matters related to one’s place in the Hereafter and excellent moral character – as well as everything that is obligatory to protect oneself from, including ash-Shirk (making someone or something a partner with Allāh), al-Ma’asee (sinful acts of disobedience) and Radha’il al-Akhlaq (despicable, despised conduct and behavior).
The requests for al-Afaf and al-Ghina are a form of mentioning specifics after the mention of something general (i.e. al-Huda and at-Taqwa) since al- Afaf and al-Ghina are already included in al-Huda and al-Taqwa.
