Allah ﷻ says in the Qur’an:
وَ العَصْر
By time!
إِنَّ الْإِنْسَانَ لَفِي خُسْرٍ
Surely mankind is in Loss.
إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ وَتَوَاصَوْا۟ بِٱلْحَقِّ وَتَوَاصَوْا۟ بِٱلصَّبْرِ
Except those who believe and do good and advised each other to truth and advised each other to patience.
[103:1-3]

Brothers and sisters!
This world was not made for you to fulfil your base desires, it was not made for you to enjoy yourselves and indulge in pleasure!
_
Rather it was made for you to be tested in the face of great temptation!
_
As Allah ﷻ says
أَحَسِبَ ٱلنَّاسُ أَن يُتْرَكُوٓا۟ أَن يَقُولُوٓا۟ ءَامَنَّا وَهُمْ لَا يُفْتَنُونَ
Do the people think that they will be left to say, “We believe” and they will not be tried?
[29:2]

This is the test for those of us, living in relative comfort, bombarded with seduction and fulfilment of the desires
_
So we must be as Allah ﷻ says:
قَالُوا رَبُّنَا اللهُ ثُمَّ اسْتَقَامُوا
They say “Our Lord is Allah” and then are steadfast
[46:13]
_
Because the true adornment of this life, lies in the obedience of Allah ﷻ and His Prophet ﷺ.
Without it, there is no honour, there is no fulfilment.
Rather there is empty pleasure and temporary enjoyment succeeded by the fire!
_
So adorn the blessings that you have been provided with,
اَلَمْ نَجْعَلْ لَّهُ عَيْنَين
Have we not made for him two eyes
وَ لِسَانًا وَّ شَفَتَين
A tongue and two lips
وَهَدَيْنَٰهُ ٱلنَّجْدَيْنِ
And shown him the two ways.
[90:8-10]
Meaning, The good and evil
_
Oh you!
Use your eyes to read the Book of Allah ﷻ.
_
Moisten your tongue and lips with the Kalam and the Dhikr of Allah ﷻ!
_
You were not shown the path to Jannah or Jahannam for you to remain Idle in your place, still and inactive!
_
So make use of this life, make it good for the sake of Allah ﷻ
So you may earn a good death,
_
For if you don’t,
اِنَّ جَهَنَّمَ كَانَتْ مِرْصَادًا
Indeed, Hell has been lying in wait
[78:21]
And if you do:
فَإِنَّ ٱلْجَنَّةَ هِىَ ٱلْمَأْوَىٰ
Then indeed, Paradise will be [his] refuge.
[79:41]

May Allah ﷻ grant us goodness and easy and enter us into His Jannatul Firdaus.
آمِيْن يَارَبَّ الْعَالَمِينْ
