The 11 Oaths

In Surah Ash-Shams which we always read.
Allah ﷻ takes 11 oaths
11 times!

For the sake of only purifying the heart.

By the Sun وَالشَّمْسِ

2. And its brilliance وَضُحَاهَا

3. And the moon when it follows it [the Sun] وَالْقَمَرِ إِذَا تَلَاهَا

4. And the day when it shows it وَالنَّهَارِ إِذَا جَلَّاهَا

5. And the night when it draws a veil over it. وَالَّيْلِ إِذَا يَغْشَـهَا

6. And the heaven وَالسَّمَآءِ

7. And He who made it. وَمَا بَنَاهَا

8. And the earth وَالاٌّرْضِ

9. And He who made it وَمَا طَحَاهَا

10. And the soul وَ نَفْسٍ

11. And he who perfected it. وَ مَا سَوَّاهَا

Why 11 oaths?
What is the reply to these oaths?

Indeed he who purifies it has succeeded. قَدْ أَفْلَحَ مَن زَكَّـاهَا

And he has failed whoever corrupts it. وَقَدْ خَابَ مَن دَسَّـاهَا

[91:9-10]
The hearts oh my honourable brothers and sisters!

Allah ﷻ wants us to purify our hearts and our Nafs!
And this purification of the heart will purify the limbs!

This applies in all matters of Deen where we may struggle.
Salah, Hijab, Music, Zina and the list goes on.

But we should not use this as an excuse to carry on sin, because the fault still lies with us!

When you purify your heart and if your actions were to be little, it would benefit… and if you corrupted your nafs and your deeds were many, it wouldn’t benefit.

As Allah ﷻ says

إِنَّمَا يَتَقَبَّلُ اللهُ مِنِ عِبَادِهِ المُتَّقِين

Allah only accepts from his slaves who have Taqwa.
[5:27]

Always perform your deeds with Taqwa!
_
We must be cautious!
That we do not sin so much that our hearts are covered in darkness.
And that we more in order to fill our hearts with Noor!
_
How?
▪Be sincere! Renew your intentions constantly!
▪Be private! Keep your deeds between you and Allah!
▪Have Khushoo’! Don’t become distracted easily and have full focus!
_
The Prophet ﷺ said
In the body there is a piece of flesh, which if it is sound the whole body is sound, and if it is corrupt, then the whole body is corrupt!
[Sahih Al-Bukhari 52, Sahih Muslim 1599]

Where are our hearts?
