Qur’anic Descriptions of that Day

In a Hadith narrated by Ibn Umar رضي الله عنه
Prophet ﷺ said:
Whoever wishes to look at the Day of Resurrection, as if he is seeing it with this eye, then let him recite,
إِذَا ٱلشَّمۡسُ كُوِّرَتۡ
“When the sun is wound round.” [81:1] and;
إِذَا ٱلسَّمَاۤءُ ٱنفَطَرَتۡ
“When the heaven is cleft asunder.” [82:1] and;
إِذَا ٱلسَّمَاۤءُ ٱنشَقَّتۡ
“When the heaven is split asunder.” [84:1]
[Tirmidhi 3333]

Allah ﷻ says in Surah Al-Infitar
إِذَا السَّمَآءُ انفَطَرَتْ
When the sky breaks apart
meaning, it splits.
وَإِذَا الْكَوَاكِبُ انتَثَرَتْ
And when the stars fall, scattering.
وَإِذَا الْبِحَارُ فُجِّرَتْ
And when the seas are erupted.
[82:1-3]

We can see a similar Ayah in Surah Takwir,
وَ اِذَا الْبِحَارُ سُجِّرَتْ
And when the seas are filled with flame.
[81:6]
_
Coming back to Surah Al-Infitar
وَإِذَا الْقُبُورُ بُعْثِرَتْ
And when the [contents of] graves are scattered.
عَلِمَتْ نَفْسٌ مَّا قَدَّمَتْ وَأَخَّرَتْ
A person will know what he has sent forward and left behind.
[82:4-5]
Meaning, when this happens then man will remember everything.

Contemplate and try to imagine the chaos and the sheer horror of Qiyamah,
That feeling of helplessness!
سبحان الله
_
You will not be able to run to the heavens, nor hide beneath the seas,
_
Allah ﷻ mentions about man on that day
وَأَمَّا مَنۡ أُوتِيَ كِتَٰبَهُۥ بِشِمَالِهِۦ فَيَقُولُ يَٰلَيۡتَنِي لَمۡ أُوتَ كِتَٰبِيَهۡ
But as for he who is given his record in his left hand, he will say, “Oh, I wish I had not been given my record
وَلَمۡ أَدۡرِ مَا حِسَابِيَهۡ
And had not known what is my account.
[69:25-26]

Are we ready to face this day?
_
Have we done Tawbah?
The Blessed month of Ramadan is coming.
Is it not time to change for the better?
