EPISODE 1️⃣: A Grave Sin
Gambling has become a normal day to day activity to those who believe they can only gain more wealth when involved in it (gamble), and to some, it’s just a game they play to kill boredom; whichever it is, Allāh (ﷻ) and His prophet (ﷺ) have forbidden this game.
How many families have become poor because of gambling? How many mouths have gone hungry, how many bodies have become naked or been clothed in nothing but rags? How many marriages have failed, how many jobs have been lost, because of a person who stole money to support his gambling habit? How many men have sold their religion and honour at the gambling table? Gambling destroys everything, even when the aim is money. It includes wine, smoking, bad company, darkness, confusion, cheating, hatred, watching for opportunities to take advantage of others, deception and all other kinds of evil.

Gambling is one of the ways Shaytan misguides the Muslims. He makes gambling so attractive that a person thinks he can live and be successful by it, thereby getting addicted and completely ruining his life.
Allāh (ﷻ) tells us;
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ إِنَّمَا ٱلْخَمْرُ وَٱلْمَيْسِرُ وَٱلْأَنصَابُ وَٱلْأَزْلَٰمُ رِجْسٌ مِّنْ عَمَلِ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنِ فَٱجْتَنِبُوهُ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُفْلِحُونَ
O you who have believed, indeed, intoxicants, gambling, [sacrificing on] stone alters [to other than Allāh], and divining arrows are but defilement from the work of Shaytan, so avoid it that you may be successful.
(Al-Ma’idah 5:90)

Gambling is a sin that hardens the heart diverts one from the remembrance of Allāh (ﷻ) and causes him to pursue the worldly life neglecting the hereafter.
A clear sign that shows gambling is an evil act is the discord among the gamblers.
Allāh (ﷻ) says,
إِنَّمَا يُرِيدُ ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنُ أَن يُوقِعَ بَيۡنَكُمُ ٱلۡعَدَٰوَةَ وَٱلۡبَغۡضَآءَ فِى ٱلۡخَمۡرِ وَٱلۡمَيۡسِرِ وَيَصُدَّكُمۡ عَن ذِكۡرِ ٱللَّهِ وَعَنِ ٱلصَّلَوٰةِۖ فَهَلۡ أَنتُم مُّنتَهُونَ
Satan only wants to cause between you animosity and hatred through intoxicants and gambling and to avert you from the remembrance of Allāh and from prayer. So will you not desist?
(Al-Ma’idah 5:91)

O brother!
Gambling causes you the anger of Allāh, So why not abstain and be patient for his provisions?
Allāh (ﷻ) says
وَيَرۡزُقۡهُ مِنۡ حَيۡثُ لَا يَحۡتَسِبُۚ وَمَن يَتَوَكَّلۡ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ فَهُوَ حَسۡبُهُۥٓۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ بَٰلِغُ أَمۡرِهِۦۚ قَدۡ جَعَلَ ٱللَّهُ لِكُلِّ شَىۡءٍ قَدۡرًا
And will provide for him from where he does not expect. And whoever relies upon Allāh – then He is sufficient for him. Indeed, Allāh will accomplish His purpose. Allāh has already set for everything a [decreed] extent.
(At-Talaq 65:3)
Remember, he who relies upon Allāh, Allāh will be sufficient for him.

Ibn Hajar al-Haytami said: It is haraam to play with dice according to the correct view because of the report of Muslim: “Whoever plays with dice, it is as if he were dipping his hand in the flesh and blood of a pig.” And according to a report narrated by Abu Dawood, “[he] has disobeyed Allaah and His Messenger.” Dice games are based on conjecture and guesswork that lead to a great deal of foolishness. al-Raafa’i said: The point here is that dice are an analogy for all other types of games that are similar.
Everything that is based on conjecture is haraam. That includes kanjafah, which are cards on which there are pictures.
