65 TIPS TO BUILD CONNECTION WITH ALLAAH IN SALAAH
EPISODE 2️⃣8⃣ – ACTIONS AFTER SALAAH THAT COULD HELP ATTAIN KHUSHUU’
🕌 64. Making Istigifar After Taslim
When you make tasleem, make istighfaar to Allaah (ﷻ) as you might have made during Salaah.
It was said to Auza’i: ”How is the seeking of forgiveness?” He replied: ”You should say: I beg forgiveness from Allaah, I beg forgiveness from Allaah.”
[Sahih Muslim 591].
Thauban (رضي الله عنه) reported: When the Messenger of Allaah (ﷺ) finished his prayer, he begged forgiveness three times and said: ”O Allaah! Thou art Peace, and peace comes from Thee; Blessed art Thou, O Possessor of Glory and Honour.”
The Mesenger of Allaah (ﷺ) said:
“When anyone of you enters the Masjid, let him send peace upon the Prophet, then let him say: ‘Allahumma-ftahli abwaba rahmatik (O Allaah, open to me the gates of Your mercy).’ And when he leaves, let him send peace upon the Prophet and say: ‘Allahumma- simni minash-shaitanir-rajim (O Allaah, protect me from the accursed Shaitan).”
[Sunan Ibn Majah 773].
Abu Huraira (رضي الله عنه) said, “’Allaah’s Messenger (ﷺ) put me in charge of the Zakat of Ramadan (i.e. Zakat-ul-Fitr).’ Someone came to me and started scooping some of the foodstuff (Zakat) with both hands. I caught him and told him that I would take him to Allaah’s Messenger (ﷺ).” Then Abu Huraira told the whole narration and added ’He (the thief) said, ‘Whenever you go to your bed, recite the Verse of “Al-Kursi” (Al-Baqarah 2:255) for then a guardian from Allaah will be guarding you, and shaytaan will not approach you till dawn.’
“On that the Prophet (ﷺ) said, “He told you the truth, though he is a liar, and he (the thief) himself was the shaytaan.”
[Sahih al-Bukhari 3275].
