Stick to the sunnah
Allah ﷻ says in the Qur’an:
ٱلۡيَوۡمَ أَكۡمَلۡتُ لَكُمۡ دِينَكُمۡ وَأَتۡمَمۡتُ عَلَيۡكُمۡ نِعۡمَتِي وَرَضِيتُ لَكُمُ ٱلۡإِسۡلَٰمَ دِينٗاۚ
This day I have perfected for you your religion and completed My favor upon you and have approved for you Islam as religion.
[Surah Al-Ma’idah, Ayah 3]
_ Al-‘Irbad ibn Sariyah reported: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, “Beware of newly invented matters, for they are misguidance. Whoever sees them must adhere to my Sunnah and the Sunnah of the upright, guided Caliphs. Bite onto it with your back teeth.”_
[Jami’ al-Tirmidhi 2676, Grade: Sahih (authentic) according to Al-Arna’ut]
_ Abdullah ibn Amr رضي الله عنه reported: The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “Verily, every deed has an enthusiasm and every enthusiasm has a limit. Whoever is enthusiastic for my Sunnah will have succeeded, but whoever is enthusiastic for something else has been ruined.”_
[Musnad Ahmad 6725, Grade: Sahih (authentic) according to Ahmad Shakir]
_ Al-‘Irbad bin Sariyah narrated: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, “I have left you upon a clear path, its clarity is the same by night or day. No one deviates from it after me but the he will be ruined.”_
[Sunan Ibn Majah 44, Grade: Sahih (authentic) according to Al-Albani]
