This life is a test

Allah ﷻ says in the Qur’an:

وَلَنَبْلُوَنَّكُم بِشَىْءٍۢ مِّنَ ٱلْخَوْفِ وَٱلْجُوعِ وَنَقْصٍۢ مِّنَ ٱلْأَمْوَٰلِ وَٱلْأَنفُسِ وَٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ ۗ وَبَشِّرِ ٱلصَّٰبِرِينَ

And certainly, We shall test you with something from fear, hunger, loss of wealth, lives and fruits, but give glad tidings to the patient ones.
[2:155]

That ل on لنبلونكم is for emphasis, that these tests will occur in our lives!
Nobody is safe from being tested by Allah ﷻ in some form.
Some are tested through provision of wealth and some tested by the lack thereof!
_
Why?
Because Allah ﷻ clearly explains in Surah Mulk

ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ ٱلْمَوْتَ وَٱلْحَيَوٰةَ لِيَبْلُوَكُمْ أَيُّكُمْ أَحْسَنُ عَمَلًۭا ۚ وَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْغَفُورُ

He who created Death and Life, so that he may test you, which of you are best in Deed.
[67:2]

This Dunya is not the place of reward!
This Dunya is not the place of comfort!
Except for whom Allah ﷻ has bestowed upon them wealth and comfort, and tested them by it!

Rather Allah ﷻ is testing you to see if you respond to Him ﷻ and you obey Him ﷻ

Abu Huraira رضي الله عنه reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said
“The believing men and women continue to be under trial in their lives, their children, and their wealth, until they meet Allah without any sin.”
[Sunan al-Tirmidhī 2399, Grade: Sahih according to Al-Albani]

Allah ﷻ says

وَمَن يُطِعِ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥ وَيَخْشَ ٱللَّهَ وَيَتَّقْهِ فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْفَآئِزُونَ

And whoever obeys Allah and his Messenger, and fears Allah and is conscious of Him, it is those who are successful.
[24:52]

Follow the footsteps of the Messenger ﷺ who was patient through all of his adversity!
This is a path to success!
_
Obey Allah ﷻ and his Messenger ﷺ!
This is a path to happiness!
_
Fear Allah ﷻ and this is a path to everlasting bliss!
_
Don’t be sad!
The Prophet ﷺ said “Amazing is the affair of the believer, verily all of his affair is good and this is not for no one except the believer. If something of good/happiness befalls him he is grateful and that is good for him. If something of harm befalls him he is patient and that is good for him”
[Sahih Muslim 2999]

Remember Allah ﷻ in all states and don’t forget him!
For the one who forgets him, is lost!
_
And who else but Allah ﷻ, can aid us?
May Allah ﷻ grant us the patience to overcome all tests and trials and grant us goodness both in this world and in the Hereafter.
