The etiquettes of Qur’an recital

Be of three types of people in terms of recitation of Qur’an and the daily Salah.
1️⃣ Allah ﷻ says
ٱلَّذِينَ ءَاتَيْنَٰهُمُ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ يَتْلُونَهُۥ حَقَّ تِلَاوَتِهِۦٓ
Those to whom we have given the Book, recite it with its true recital.
[2:121]
Ibn ‘Abbas رضي الله عنه said “They make Lawful what it allows and they Prohibit what it prohibits, and they do not alter the wordings”
Umar Ibn Al Khattab رضي الله عنه said “They are those who when they recite an Ayah of Mercy, they ask Allah for it, and they recite an Ayah of Torment, They seek refuge in Allah from it”
أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِهِۦ ۗ
They are the ones who believe therein.
[2:121]
Proper Recitation [Using both meanings] is linked with Imaan here.

2️⃣ Allah ﷻ says
مَا تَيَسَّرَ مِنَ الْقُرْءَانِ
So, Recite what is easy for you.
[73:20]
In this case, recite properly what you find easy in Salah. Even if it is just ‘Surah Kawthar or surah al ikhlas’.
And in a Normal Sitting, Recite, and if you struggle know there is double reward for you!
Therefore, by reading and reflecting over the Quran, one fulfils an obligation and is rewarded for it.

3️⃣ Allah ﷻ says
وَإِذَا قُرِىءَ الْقُرْءَانُ فَاسْتَمِعُواْ لَهُ
When the Qur’an is recited, then listen to it.
وَأَنْصِتُوا لَعَلَّكُمْ تُرْحَمُونَ
And pay attention so that you may attain mercy.
[7:204]
Ibn Mas’ud رضي الله عنه reported that they would give Salaam while the Qur’an was recited and this Ayah prohibited them!
So what about when we speak about idle affairs and useless matters over the Qur’an?

Be not of those who Allah ﷻ talks about
وَقَالَ الرَّسُولُ يَا رَبِّ إِنَّ قَوْمِي اتَّخَذُوا هَٰذَا الْقُرْآنَ مَهْجُورًا
And the Messenger will say “Oh My Lord! Verily, my people have deserted this Qur’an”
[25:30]
And as the Prophet ﷺ said, “The Qur’an is an intercessor and it’s intercession is accepted and its plea is believed. Whoever makes it lead him – it leads him to Paradise and whomsoever places it behind him [the result will be] he is dragged to the Fire.”
[Ibn Hibban no. 124, Sahih]

Your choice,
Let it lead you to Jannah or cause it to drag you to Jahannam.
_
And never give up in trying to improve, Allah ﷻ rewards all efforts.
_
Increase in the recitation of Qur’an, the exaltation of Allah ﷻ and Du’a!
_
May Allah ﷻ make us among those who fulfils the obligation of the Qur’an and make it a witness for us on the day of judgement.
May Allah make the Qur’an the Noor within our hearts, make it intercede for us and not against us .
