An Exemplary Role Model
Look at the Steadfastness and the Imaan of Sa’ad Ibn Abi Waqqas رضي الله عنه
His Mother promised to not eat or drink till he renounced his Religion.
And that was his response!

Why?
Because Sa’ad رضي الله عنه had found contentment, happiness, purpose in the Deen of Allah, and nothing was worth its value… Not even his own mother.

As Allah ﷻ says
أَلَا بِذِكْرِ ٱللَّهِ تَطْمَئِنُّ ٱلْقُلُوبُ
Verily, in the remembrance of Allah, do hearts find rest.
[13:28]
_
Some people believe that happiness lies in Wealth, Marriage, Beauty, Status.
But Wallahi, these things are only temporary, and if a person bases their happiness on these things, then their depression after it has left them will be 10 times worse.
_
Allah ﷻ mentions
وَأَمَّآ إِذَا مَا ٱبْتَلَىٰهُ فَقَدَرَ عَلَيْهِ رِزْقَهُۥ
And when He Tightens his sustenance and measures out for him
فَيَقُولُ رَبِّىٓ أَهَٰنَنِ
He says “My Lord has Disgraced me!”
[89:16]
Meaning that when Allah ﷻ reduces that persons Rizq and Ni’ma to test him or to make him turn back to Allah ﷻ, he becomes ungrateful and complains about the Qadr of Allah ﷻ!

But when a person bases his happiness on being a true slave to Allah ﷻ.
Allah ﷻ says
فَمَنِ ٱتَّبَعَ هُدَاىَ فَلَا يَضِلُّ وَلَا يَشْقَىٰ
Whoever follows my guidance, he shall not go astray [In Dunya] nor suffer [In Akhirah]
[20:123]

Meaning he won’t ever go wrong when he follows the guidance of Allah ﷻ and he will always be on the straight path, content and he will be able to cross the thinnest and straightest bridge on Qiyamah easily.
_
And Allah will then say to him
يَٰٓأَيَّتُهَا ٱلنَّفۡسُ ٱلۡمُطۡمَئِنَّةُ
Oh you! Contented Soul!
ٱرْجِعِىٓ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكِ رَاضِيَةًۭ مَّرْضِيَّةًۭ
Return to your Lord well pleased and well pleasing.
فَٱدْخُلِى فِى عِبَٰدِى
So enter among my servants
وَٱدْخُلِى جَنَّتِى
Enter into my Garden.
[89:27-30]

So always be content with what you have by Thanking Allah for the Ni’ma (Blessings).
Ask for guidance, steadfastness and knowledge and Wallahi, ان شاء الله we will be of those who Allah ﷻ will call to Jannah.

May Allah ﷻ bless us, forgive us and have mercy on us.
