65 TIPS TO BUILD CONNECTION WITH ALLAAH IN SALAAH
EPISODE 7⃣ – ACTIONS BEFORE SALAAH THAT COULD HELP ATTAIN KHUSHUU’ (cont)

🕌 3. Frequent and Constant Recitation of the Qur’an.
It is beneficial to recite the Qur’an frequently and consistently as it softens the hearts and prepares it for Khushuu’. Allaah (ﷻ) says:
“The believers are only those who, when Allâh is mentioned, their hearts become fearful and when His verses are recited unto them, they (i.e. the Verses) increase their faith; and they put their trust in their Lord (Alone)”
[Al-Anfal 8:2]
Abu Hurairah (رضي الله عنه) reported the Prophet (ﷺ) as saying:
”No people get together in a house of the houses of Allaah (i.e. the Masjid), reciting the Book of Allaah, and learning it together among themselves, but calmness (sakinah) comes down to them, (divine) mercy covers them (from above), and the angels surround them, and Allaah makes a mention of them among those who are with Him.”
[Abi Dawud 1455. Graded Sahih by al-Albany]
Narrated Al-Bara (رضي الله عنه):
While a man from the companions of the Prophet (ﷺ) was reciting (Qur’an) and his horse was tied in the house, the horse got startled and started jumping. The man came out, looked around but could find nothing, yet the horse went on jumping. The next morning, he mentioned that to the Prophet. The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “That was the tranquility (calmness) which descended because of the recitation of the Qur’an.”
[Muslim Vol. 6, Book 60, H 363]
‘Aishah (رضي الله عنها) reported: The Messenger (ﷺ) said:
“The one who is proficient in the recitation of the Qur’an will be with the honorable and obedient scribes (angels) and he who recites the Qur’an and finds it difficult to recite, doing his best to recite it in the best possible way, will have a double reward.”
[Al-Bukhari and Muslim]

🕌 4. Defeat Shaytaan.
Shaytaan has vowed to mislead man, if he is unable to stop believers from observing salaah he sows hatred among them to render their effort (Salaah) fruitless. So, defeat Shaytaan by reconciling with your brothers.
Jabir (رضي الله عنه) narrated that the Messenger of Allaah (ﷺ) said:
“Indeed Ash-Shaitan has despaired of getting those who perform Salat to worship him. But he is engaged in sowing hatred among them.”
[Jami` at-Tirmidhi 1937]

🕌 5. Protecting Oneself by Saying a Lot of Dhikr
The Prophet (ﷺ) said:
“the worshiper does not protect himself from Ash-Shaitan except by the remembrance of Allaah.”
[Jami’ Tirmidhi, Vol. 5, Book 42, H 2863]
