EPISODE 2️⃣ – A Single Fast to Expiate Two Years Sins
2️⃣ Saying this Du’aa very often:
Allaah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said: The best of supplications is the supplication on the day of Arafah and the best which I and the Prophets before me have said is:
لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللّٰهُ وَحْدَهُ لاَ شَرِيْكَ لَهُ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيْرٌ
Laa ‘ilaaha ‘illallaahu wahdahu laa shareeka lahu, lahul-mulku wa lahul-hamdu wa Huwa ‘alaa kulli shay’in Qadeer.
“None has the right to be worshipped but Allaah Alone, Who has no partner. His is the dominion and His is the praise, and He is Able to do all things.”
(At-Tirmithi. Al-Albani graded it good in Sahih At-Tirmithi 3/184, and also Silsilatul-‘Ahadith As-Sahihah 4/6)
3️⃣ Making Tahleel, Takbeer, Tahmeed and Tasbeeh:
It is a Sunnah of our Prophet (ﷺ) to recite the Tahleel, Takbeer and Tahmeed as many times as possible on the day of Arafah, and also on the days of Tashreeq (11th, 12th and 13th of Dhul Hijjah).
Tahleel is saying: “Laa ilaaha il-lal-laah.”
Takbeer is saying: “Allaahu Akbar.”
Tahmeed is saying: “Alhamdulillaah”
Tasbeeh is saying: “Subhan’Allaah.”
4️⃣ Seek forgiveness from Allaah (ﷻ):
Allaah (ﷻ) frees much of His slaves from the Hellfire on this day. It was reported from Aishah (رضي الله عنها) that the Messenger of Allaah (ﷺ) said:
“There is no day on which Allaah, the Mighty and Sublime, frees more of his slaves, male and female, from the fire, than the day of Arafah. He comes close, then he boasts to the angels about them and say: ‘What do these people want?”
(Sunan an-Nasa’i 3003)
So, Ya Bani Adam! This is a great chance for you and I because this may be the last Arafah we will witness before the eternal slumber. So let take full advantage of this day.
May Allaah (ﷻ) make us witness this day and more of it and accept it as an act of Ibaadah.
