Being Muhsin in your Worship
Allah ﷻ says in Surah Luqman:
الم
Alif-Lam-Meem
تِلْكَ ءَايَٰتُ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ ٱلْحَكِيمِ
These are the verses of the Book, rich in wisdom.
هُدًى وَرَحْمَةً لِلْمُحْسِنِينَ
As guidance and mercy for the doers of good (Muhsineen) .
[31:1-3]

Allah ﷻ said Muhsineen, but not Mu’mineen!
Why?
Because Ihsaan is the highest level of Imaan, we can reach.
And all the Mu’mineen want to reach high levels.
_
In a famous narration,
When Jibreel عليه السلام asked Prophet ﷺ what is Ihsaan?
He ﷺ said “To Worship Allah as if you can see him, even though you cannot see him, yet he sees you.”
[Sahih Al-Bukhari 50]
_
When we attain Ihsaan, Khushoo’ in Salah and every worship becomes easy,
When we attain Ihsaan, effort in any act of worship becomes easy,
When we attain Ihsaan, our Taqwa increases greatly and we also avoid sin much more fervently.
_
This Ayah then is telling us, the Qur’an is the way to attain this level of “Ihsaan”
_
It is a guide.
As Prophet ﷺ said “The Qur’an is an intercessor, something given permission to intercede, and it is rightfully believed in. Whoever puts it in front of him, it will lead him to Paradise; whoever puts it behind him, it will steer him to the Hellfire.”
[Ibn Hibban 124]
_
And it is a mercy.
As Allah ﷻ says:
وَنُنَزِّلُ مِنَ ٱلۡقُرۡءَانِ مَا هُوَ شِفَآءٞ وَرَحۡمَةٞ لِّلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ وَلَا يَزِيدُ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ إِلَّا خَسَارٗا
And We send down of the Qur’an that which is healing and mercy for the believers, but it does not increase the wrongdoers except in loss.
[17:82]

سبحان الله
Then Allah ﷻ describes the other Qualities of these people
ٱلَّذِينَ يُقِيمُونَ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَيُؤْتُونَ ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ وَهُم بِٱلْءَاخِرَةِ هُمْ يُوقِنُونَ
Who establish prayer and give zakah, and they, of the Hereafter, are certain [in faith].
أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ عَلَىٰ هُدًۭى مِّن رَّبِّهِمْ ۖ وَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْمُفْلِحُونَ
Those are on [right] guidance from their Lord, and it is those who are the successful.
[31:4-5]
_
You want Success?
Follow the Qur’an and Sunnah, Be a Muhsin in worship.
_
May Allah ﷻ have mercy on us and guide us through the straight path.
